    PROJECT HAIL MARY Trailer 2025

I don’t know, us random school teachers need to have a pretty versatile skillset.

    Wes Anderson Films, Ranked

I was just role playing as Wes Anderson posting in a thread about Wes Anderson, in the style of Wes Anderson.

What are you reading in 2025?

It's not just a matter of pronunciation. It's quite possible for a bad reader to break a book, or a good reader to make it, irrespective of accurate pronunciation. I'm currently trying to listen to an audiobook of Revelation Space, and the reader is pretty bad, flat and monotonous.

Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Review

He knows he is a prisoner, and that is why he wants to escape. Indeed, one of the ways he is tormented by the possibility of escape that it is just beyond his reach. But it is not impossible for a dark lord to escape: Vecna, Azalin, Soth have all escaped one way or another.

The First Rule of David Fincher is You Don't Rank David Fincher

I think it's quite well known that Fincher had a lot of interference with this, and it isn't the movie he wanted to make. I'm not exactly a Fincher fan, and I though Gone Girl was pretty bad (but that goes for the book too), but I'm willing to let him off the blame for the terribleness that was...

Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Review

I was assuming they were referring to visual media, not the written word, where the skin colour of characters is often left unspecified. But when it comes to movie villains, they aren't just white, they are usually British too, with an American hero. Is this perceived as anti-British? No...

What are you reading in 2025?

That’s an easy one. Soft g would be a more correct, Spanish pronunciation, whereas hard g is anglicised. I would pronounce it with a hard g.

What are you reading in 2025?

A lot of the errors I have heard are old fashioned terms in historical fiction, or English characters using US/Australian pronunciations, and, of course Raymond Luxury Yacht is often pronounced wrong.

Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Review

And the hero. And 99% of all the other characters in the movie. If there is a character who isn't white or straight, they are probably a sidekick who dies tragically.

    Traveller 1e & Me

It might be worth mentioning that White Dwarf magazine in the early 80s regularly covered Traveller, including suggestions on running the game, and generic (ie not Third Imperium) adventures and stuff. Travellers’ Journal was mostly Third Imperium focused.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dark Sun, problematic content, and 5E…

I do feel that people are too frightened to talk about death. We all die, if you treat it as casually as eating and pooping it takes away the fear.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

You are kind of getting into real world belief systems here, so I'm being a bit cautious about the sites restrictions on talking about religion, but some people believe in something called Actualisation. Now, its always dangerous to try and describe something believed by others that you do not...

I have noticed that audiobook readers sometimes pronounce things wrong themselves though.
