How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

You're right. I suspect it's going to take a long, long time before we get close to what we used to think of as normal.

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

Let's pretend for a minute I figure out a way to open a new miniatures production facility here in the United States by 2029 (just humor me). The future is so uncertain I don't know if I'd build it. Do things go back to normal in 2026 or 2027? Will there be supply chain issues resulting in a...

    Best fantasy names in literature

At least most of Martin's names sounded real. I will say I do thing Tolkien was pretty good at giving his characters names. They feel just as a real as Martin's names to me. When I saw this thread it was the first thing I thought of. A bunch of the cheesy fantasy books I read in the 90s were...

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

$#%#A% the English language. Even as I typed it in I thought burrow looked wrong. We're not talking about bunnies.

How many years does it take for an RPG to become nostalgic, for you?

I'm with you on that one. I have a lot of good memories of playing AD&D 2nd edition, GURPS, and a few others but I don't ever want to go back to using those rules again. It's not the games themselves I'm nostalgic for rather it's my friends, being at a different place in my life, etc., etc...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

As crummy as this is for a lot of us as consumers, my heart absolutely goes out to the many people whose livelihood is negatively affected by these tariffs. Publishers, producers, artists, retail stores, and even those who would ship the items are all hurt by this.

Mongoose Publishing Acquires Dark Conspiracy RPG

Oh, boy! The original Dark Conspiracy was set in the near future after the global collapse of the economy leaving many nations destitute. The best part about this is nobody needs to update the setting since we're living the future now!

    IN REMEMBRANCE--2025

I was an adult before I realized Blondie was the band and not Debra Harry. I really enjoy their music and I'm sorry Clem's gone.

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

My entire life this is how I've heard New Yorkers refer to the various burrows and sometimes even neighborhoods. Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Staten Island all have their own distinct identities and sometimes you can refine that even further by neighborhood. Harlem and Hell's...

Mongoose Publishing Acquires Dark Conspiracy RPG

I didn't see this coming. I haven't played DC is about thirty years, and I didn't know anyone had a lot of fond memories of the game. I see it mentioned on rare occasion, but didn't think there was a whole lot of love for it. I'm interested in seeing what Mongoose does with it and look...

Mongoose Acquires Dark Conspiracy - Coming 2026!

I can't say this wasn't a dark horse as I haven't played the game in about thirty years. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys put out there.

    Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

Fridging is one of those things you look at in the aggregate rather than on an individual basis. The idea behind fridging is female supporting characters in comics very often suffered disproportionate harm relative to male supporting characters. You can't just look at one instance and say...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

I just placed an order with Archon Studios for a pretty good amount. I'd been meaning to try out one of their dragons and I was afraid I might not get another opportunity in the future.

Compare The Market's Tabletop Gaming Survey

Like I said earlier, while I don't think of myself as a collector I've got to admit that I am a collector. I have a wide range of miniatures displayed on my shelf. By any reasonable definition, I have a collection of miniatures. I might purchase them to paint and use in games, but it’s...

Necessity of a Social Negotiation System? – When Should It Be Relevant?

I guess everything is dependent on the game. I always like to ask whether something is going to make a difference in the game. i.e. Is this a meaningful interaction? For most of my games, dealing with a merchant, buying and selling items, just isn't a meaningful encounter. It doesn't mean...

Necessity of a Social Negotiation System? – When Should It Be Relevant?

As I like to tell my players, "Social skills are not a form of mind control." In truth, in scenario #1 nothing interesting happens. Oh, boy! You've saved 10% on healing potions. Who cares? Even if cold, hard cash was important in the game, saving 10% is hardly the type of thing anyone is...

GAMA's Communications Manager Declares Organization 'Broken'

She decided to leave. I expect her primary goal was to get the heck out and move on to greener pastures.

GAMA's Communications Manager Declares Organization 'Broken'

I work in HR, and you're right that we want an honest response, but then we'd prefer that response weren't so public.

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

On the bright side, high tariffs might be just the motivation I need to tackle all my unpainted projects here at home. I am considering making a few discrete purchases of paint and perhaps some miniatures. But I have to temper such expenditures as I'm also worried everything else in my life is...
