D&D General What modules have you reused for multiple campaigns

What do you mean by campaign? I always use the term in the old sense, in which it describes the milieu rather than a given group of pcs' adventures.

D&D General Do you track ammunition?

Yes, as a player. And I have my players track ammo as a DM. Ranged combat, especially post-2e, is basically superior to melee combat- there is almost no drawback to it. Limited ammunition is a very meager downside, IMHO.

Describe your last rpg session in 5 words

    Rescued hostages from Juiblex cult.

Describe your last rpg session in 5 words

    Pcs escaped from Lost City.

D&D General Why did you have to cancel/reschedule your most recent session?

Our most recent reschedule was an "Other"- the DM's kid had a school concert. Since the game defaults to every other Friday, I can't call this double booking, per se; this is just one of those things that comes up once in a while where another commitment takes priority, and the schedule needs to...

How Do You Keep Track of All Your RPG Books?

I use a bookshelf. And I'm pretty familiar with what I have, as well as with what I don't have but want. I'm a collector, but not a completist, if that makes sense.

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclassing as feats:

I saw pcs take two or even three of them. They seemed to be decent enough to me, compared to how fiddly a lot of 4e feats were.

Missing players and other players running their PCs

We just have the missing pc fade into the background. Maybe they're guarding the camp, maybe they're scouting ahead, maybe they have a bout of the flu or explosive diarrhea, but we don't worry about it too much.

how many of powerful beings and/or high-level characters do you think is appropriate in a typical fantasy world?

Well... the problem with this question is that I don't think there's any such thing as a 'typical' fantasy world or setting. I think the number of powerful individuals should vary according to the needs of that setting. In some settings, there might be a fair number who manipulate things from...

D&D General Languages suck in D&D.

This is a topic near and dear to my heart, but I have to leave in a few minutes. I'll do a quick copy and paste of some of my language rules; but due to formatting issues I will have to save the list of what languages are in what category, and the levels of similarity that they have, for after I...

    GM no-roll

Hell no. I like to DM and I like to roll dice. As a player, I like the DM to roll dice. It's not impossible that I would enjoy such a game, but it's very doubtful.

Worlds of Design: What State is Your State?

One of the conceits of my game is that things, including history, are cyclical, with periodic upheavals/disasters that send civilization back to ruins, from which civilization gradually climbs again. At the moment, my setting is in one of those just-after-an-upheaval moments, so there are a...

    IN REMEMBRANCE--2025

Rino Dondi Pinton, the creator of Cynar, has died. Cynar is a type of Italian amaro, an aperitif, made with (among other things) artichoke, and is fantastic. I'm a fan of amari in general and Cynar ranks in the top few for me.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

I don't think anyone has called for that; just for giving a reasonable amount of time for people to grieve before talking smack about the dead. Nobody is thought policing here. It's about practicing decorum.

    AD&D 1E Old module question.

That description doesn't ring a bell. L2 is D&D's first murder mystery adventure. The pcs have to investigate the murder of the Baron of Restenford. It's very open-ended, picking up from a number of the threads in the town and npc descriptions in L1.

D&D 5E (2024) What old monsters should return to 5e?

Alas, I don't have either of those. I'm not familiar with them- are they in an old MC Appendix or just in some adventure or something?

D&D 5E (2024) What old monsters should return to 5e?

The bleeder is in 5e as the death kiss.

D&D 5E (2024) What old monsters should return to 5e?

If you've got any other old favorites, let me know; there's a decent chance I've converted them, too.
