D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

@Whizbang Dustyboots Agreed with what you wrote, just not the way it's presented. "Built around the male gaze" sounds much more nefarious than just "created what came naturally". The former sounding like a conscious decision to be exclusionary in my mind. Which is why I'm not thrilled about...

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

I see this line of thinking popup all the time (as if it's even a bad thing), but disagree that it was designed for horny adolescent hetero boys anymore than the scantily clad, muscle dudes were designed for horny adolescent non-hetero boys. I just think at one time we were all in agreement...

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

Leave it to WotC to turn a perfectly fun, one-off, "hehe" alternative take into a full-blown delusional retcon. All they had to do was make a model of the actual character along with the alternative and this would be a complete non-issue. Would have been a fun and inclusive way of tying the two...

Wasn't aware of Obojima. That looks cool as hell, thank you.

What are your "dumbest" TTRPG costs

Hmmm, I think mine would have to be a Knights of the Dinner Table #1 I picked up off eBay during COVID. Ridiculous amount of money, but I really wanted to complete my collection.

Have a particular system you like to use? There are so many fun JRPG inspired TTRPGs right now like Fabula Ultima, Goblin Slayer, and Fever Knights.

D&D General What Edition was it?

This video has me really thinking about buying D&D Trivia Pursuit...

D&D General What Edition was it?

Too fun not to share! Questing Beast quizzes Mike Mearls, Seth Skorkowsky, and Kelsey Dionne on their D&D edition knowledge. I had a blast playing along (even though I wasn't scoring nearly as well, haha).

Looking for a Cyberpunk Genre Game

I love Interface Zero and would certainly recommend. As for edition, 3.0 is finally out (PDF), but really hasn't captured my interest (still feels like it's in Beta stage), but can vouch 2.0 is solid and fun. Also, worth mentioning Cities Without Number too!

    Cookin again

@Dannyalcatraz I love my cast iron, but I've never been confident in my seasoning. It's smooth and I've never have any horrendous accidents, but food residue still sticks to it when I cook. Is that normal? I've found my wok to be much easier to clean and keep in "cooking shape".

Not DnD: Rob Heinsoo Talks 13th Age 2nd Edition

So excited for this! Glad to see Jonathan Tweet is back designing again too.

Pathfinder 2E Paizo announced Tian Xia World Guide, Character Guide, and the Season of Ghosts adventure path.

Also, don't know about others, but considering my book had an updated UPC code slapped over the old one, there must have been a last minute price increase?

Pathfinder 2E Paizo announced Tian Xia World Guide, Character Guide, and the Season of Ghosts adventure path.

I was a bit taken back too, but realized that was mostly to me just not fully adjusting to how terrible inflation (US) has been. Had to remind myself the last large pizza and two orders of breadsticks ran me $60, around the same price as what this book is offered on online. (y)

TSR Having multiple dungeons available to the players

@DarkCrisis Have you heard of Forbidden Lands? I've never seen a game quite like it when it comes to sandbox play. The major locations, NPCs (and their goals), and rare artifacts are pre-defined thanks to the campaign setting being baked into the rules. For less-important locations (towns...

TSR Having multiple dungeons available to the players

Aside from making the campaign feel more like an open world, I run my OSR games this way because mechanically it allows players to decide on the "difficulty". A Lv 5 group storming a Lv 1 dungeon is nice change of pace from time to time. Mostly for me though, his style of play is especially...

    Trailer Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Not VR and pretty sure it will look similar to the first one, which had a normal field of view. Most PC games have a slider to set it to preference though.

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I think his reasoning was the "snap" would be a soft-reset to give others the chance to live more sustainably. If in a hundred years they failed again, he'd just snap again (or double-snap to be extra punishing). Of course, not sure how the rest of the universe would know what was going on...

    OSR Baptism of Fire RPG

@Gus L Thanks for sharing. I collected OSR material as I saw it in bookstores, but was never part of the community during those early days. I don't think it was until C&C and Lamentations that I started to follow the creators themselves and join in discussions with other fans. Specifically...
