Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

I have no idea about the cost side, but both MtG and D&D are easily the most profitable ‘products’ Hasbro owns with around 50% profit margins (so they should not be that far apart cost wise) and accounting for almost Hasbro’s entire profit, so they are not likely to sell either

D&D General Todd Kenreck Let Go from WotC

my comment was not limited to stat blocks, they are probably the hardest for AI to hallucinate about, as they are so limited

mixed in with a ton of stuff that throws it off when actually generating something for D&D

D&D General Todd Kenreck Let Go from WotC

because WotC won’t tell you that it is AI, I also expect that AI is only some baseline a designer then refines rather than going straight into the product, because only WotC’s AI can be trained on 50 years of D&D data

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

I believe that interest was ‘always’ there, GG created it and CSIO either did not change it or had a negative impact (tbd) whereas CSIO had a positive impact for JG, even if small and without them being able to exploit it (also tbd). So, GG 0 : JG 1

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

I assume that was just Goodman not considering that there were two version in the KS, rather than this being an intentional decision

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

The GG campaign made the CSIO more of a known entity imo, and with its limited run and potentially renewed interest, JG could try to meet that demand. From Bledsaw’s post it sounded like they wanted to release their own version this year (I doubt that is realistic…). They could also release...

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

is that the same KS? then I would not expect a distinction between who ordered which version

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

yes, he benefits, but the point was pretty much that Bledsaw is getting paid them being JG / Bledsaw

D&D 5E (2024) Anyone else surprised they didn't do a Forgotten Realms Feats, Spells, and Circle Casting UA?

Since the UA generally isn't about balance they will not learn it from an UA. I also hope / expect that the people at WotC have some idea of what they are doing, esp. when it comes to balancing things, without having to ask their fans each and every time

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

the backers are not legally owed anything, the fees are used to reimburse them so (ideally) Bledsaw does not get any money directly

D&D 5E (2024) Wizards of the Coast promises to release more “CRPGs that are going to be as serious as BG3” without Larian

much riskier than just licensing it. Well, they already own several studios from my understanding, so let’s see if it is more than a waste of money

D&D 5E (2024) Wizards of the Coast promises to release more “CRPGs that are going to be as serious as BG3” without Larian

or they just license it to various studios. There is something Warhammer related being released every month (ok, slight exaggeration) and yet GW is neither a publisher nor studio owner
