D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

Yes. And? It's a D&D licensed slot machine on a casino floor.

D&D 5E (2014) The Illrigger: Why I hate this class and love what it could have been.

Knave at least reminds me of the old Jester class.

    D&D 5E (2024) "Sword" and Board Build?

But given the changes, how would we know it still does any of those things? Sorry back at you. I had engaged earlier with a different post of yours in this thread suggesting a Barbarian, with reasons, and you didn't respond. I thought my next engagement would be briefer since maybe I had posted...

D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

I played one in Las Vegas and posted about it here, probably a 15 years ago? One of these I posted in this thread is 2009. Most of the videos point up at some point to show the top of the machine. You can see the casino floor in the background in some of these. Here is a clear example from 8...

D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

I think this is the third iteration of a D&D slot machine. The first two were pre-5e. I think the first one was late-TSR era? Could have been 3e era. Unsure.

D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

It's slot machines. Casinos police them ruthlessly. The moment by 13 year old kid steps on the floor some security guy is waiving her back. I don't think it's going to be an issue. This also isn't the first D&D slot machine, just the latest. Many years ago I posted here about one I found in...

D&D 5E (2014) The Illrigger: Why I hate this class and love what it could have been.

Yes for me it began and ended with this. That name. I couldn't even feel right approaching my DM with that name. It SCREAMS "I am a weird third party product of some dude's house ruled game." There are so many names which are the same as something from the history of D&D or similar-enough to it...

    D&D 5E (2024) "Sword" and Board Build?

It's a new game and new rules for that feat. Not obvious to most readers. Most of us have not memorized the changes. No reason to be rude about it.

Dungeons & Dragons Pinball Machine Announced

Realistically most pinball machines make $300 a month for the first couple months that they're new to a location and then drop off over time to the point they're making $80 a month by the end of the first year, which is why they are rotated every other month.

    D&D 5E (2024) "Sword" and Board Build?

Defensive Duelist costs a feat spot and your reaction every turn. A very high cost. Might be worth it but there is a lot of competition for both.

Dungeons & Dragons Pinball Machine Announced

If it can generate $20 a day, it will pay for itself in a year. A good investment for some game stores and retro cafes.

    D&D 5E (2024) "Sword" and Board Build?

I'd go Barbarian, Berserker or Zealot. The extra damage will make up for the single handed weapon. Probably Zealot. as the self-healing will come in handy as will the save benefit. Goliath likely makes the most sense, though Gnome can give you either advantage or proficiency in every save I believe.

    D&D General Ghostly player?

I second Ghostwalk. Good book. Rules easily ported.

D&D 5E (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

Nope, never heard of it. Only cap I recall was 20, with epic rules to get feats and such after that.

D&D 5E (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

I don't even know what E6, E10, and E12 are? But yeah, if you've been on this message board or Reddit's message board for the past decade discussing 5e, a top complaint was lack of higher level monsters. Ha, why else did you think they had complete stats? Yes we fought the Gods as kids...

D&D 5E (2024) "D&D Monster Manual 2025 is going to pack a serious punch thanks to a family of monsters descended from gods, and frankly I’m terrified"(Gamesradar)

For monsters, we ABSOLUTELY needed that. People have been asking for stronger monsters at the higher CRs from the first day 5e came out. No idea why you'd object to that. It's probably the #1 complaint people have had for ages. What are you talking about? We've ALWAYS had God-like monsters in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimizing for more grit…

We do this with dungeons and it requires no house rules, just a tough DM: 1) don't let the players rest very often in a dungeon. Fights make noise, spells make noise, other monsters in other areas come to investigate. Monsters wander around and don't stay static in just one area, so players...

    D&D 5E (2014) BG3 is once again a Platinium Selling Game in 2024, without selling a DLC.

By nephew just got BG3, and I recommended it to a friend who may get it soon. It's that good, though admittedly I don't play a lot of video games these days. So far I only own Hogwart's Legacy as my other game on my Xbox S. Though I may be about to get Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Beyond Thanks Community

Given well more than half of these announcements are in-person play or physical products, what is it about these announcements which trigger your fear that they will stop publishing hardcopy books?
