    D&D 4E 4E Followers and Mercenaries

I'll give another nod toward Campanion Characters (DMGII). These rules have been great for me. I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't tried them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Would you consider 5th edition?

Let's see...I'm forty-six. I've been playing D&D since I was 17 or 18 (can't remember exactly). I've liked each new edition of D&D better than the previous edition. I do sigh at having to start all over again with sourcebooks, but I always do. 5e is coming someday. And I already know that I...

Any good adventures to start with?

Other than Scales or War or the adventure path in Dungeon Magazine, I can't think of any 'long' adventures that you have not played. I wish WotC would release a hardcover super adventure (i.e. Revenge of the Giants) for heroic tier play. I don't think they will since the Choas Scar pretty much...

Hobby Games Sales up 5-10%... but not RPGs

D&D isn't exactly an inexpensive hobby if you buy most/all of the sourcebooks. I think sales of RPGs will pick up as the economy improves and individual disposable incomes increase. I know my individual purchases make no measureable impact on sales; however, it has only been in the last few...

    WotC April survey

I have DMG II and enjoy it. I let them know that the section on Campanion Characters was immensely helpful to me. For me, that one section was worth the price of the entire book.

D&D 4E Do you want more 4e classes, races, feats, powers, etc?

Game table...hopefully sooner rather than later. I want them to keep the classes, races, etc. coming. If there is something I don't like, I simply won't buy it. But options? I love to have waving fields of options.

    First D&D/RPG Experience

Long ago, I had been wanting D&D badly...even tried to write the whole thing down when I barrowed a friend's copy but gave up. I can't remember if it was my 17th or 18th birthday. I was working part time at a nursing home in Dallas. When I got off, my mother picked me up and handed me the...

"I tuck the sunrod in my belt".

Seeing Light Dog Well, I suppose one could tote along a seeing-light-dog...a dog with sunrods strapped all over him :p Need to see down that chasm, just lower him down on a rope. If he sees something, he'd surely bark. If you pull him up and nothing is there, you'd know for sure that...

Holy cow! D&D tiles for the iPad!

I still can't believe I got duped  I just the saw the picture, read some of the text (missing all the clues), then threw my hands up in excitment. I'm glad lots of folks will probably get a good laugh today over my over-enthusium. :) It has caused me to laugh at myself, which is a good...

Holy cow! D&D tiles for the iPad!

Oh man, I can't believe it. I just got nailed by April Fool's Day. [face palm] Oh well, I'm still getting an iPad. :o

Holy cow! D&D tiles for the iPad!

Wow, this just sealed the deal for me...one iPad sold. I can't believe no one has posted a thread on this yet. Wow, what great news! Anyone else excited about this?

"I tuck the sunrod in my belt".

I don't believe these approaches are bending the rules. However, if one dangles a sunrod down to see into a chasm, I don't see why some annoyed creature down there would decline to take a swat at it.

    Confused - Difficulty Class Errata

You have helped me overcome a ton of confusion related to errata. Thanks! :)

"I tuck the sunrod in my belt".

I've wondered the same thing too. This is how I tend to handle it: If the PCs choose to place the sunrod in certain places...belt, head-strap, etc., I sometimes allow monsters that are annoyed by light to attack the light source. Of course, the attack must be a success to disrupt the light...

    DDI and IPAD

Yes, I would probably double dip as well. I wonder if it is possible to present the current sourcebooks as epub and keep the formatting the same? I wonder if WotC still has the electronic sourcebook issue on the table.

    Confused - Difficulty Class Errata

In the errata, it appears they changed the table on page 42 of the DMG, basically reduces the DCs by 5 across the board. Does this mean I should reduce the DCs listed in the my Player's Handbook Skills Section by 5? For example, the Knowledge skill list DCs as: Common as 15, Expert as 20, and...

Do area attacks or blasts harm allies?

I must be blind, because I've been looking all over for this answer and can't find it. In short, do area attacks (fireball, poison cloud, etc) harm your own allies? What about close attacks? Thanks.

    DDI and IPAD

I'm pretty sure at this point that I'm getting an iPad (just waiting for payday). I like to buy ebooks--especially FR novels, but don't really like being chained to my computer to read them. I'd much rather read on my recliner. My eyesight isn't that great, so reading books on my iPhone is...
