    D&D 5E (2014) My biggest gripe with 5e design

You know, I really like doing exhaustion damage instead of level drain for the undead. It feels like a more organic execution of the concept.

    Change Your DTRPG Password Now!

Got my password changed - I'd been meaning to do that for a while, so now is as good a time as any.

D&D General The Satanic Panic never really died?

Well, at minimum Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola.

    Losing my main FLGS

As someone who lost two of my FLGS (Ancient Wonders and its successor store, Legend of Gamers, both in Tualatin), I know how much that sucks.

    TSR Lorraine Williams, unfairly lambasted?

That, plus the takedown notices against fansites, plus the Role-Aids lawsuit, pretty much put Williams right in everyone's crosshairs - and those things in combination would have earned the vitriol of fans no matter what, whether it was Lorraine Williams or Jim Herd in charge of the company

    TSR Lorraine Williams, unfairly lambasted?

I'd suspect in addition to all of these, TSR's lawsuits against Gary Gygax's attempted successor companies and products (Dangerous Journeys, Lejendary Adventures) aggravated the issues. I believe the Mayfair Games/Role Aids lawsuit was under Williams's leadership as well.

    TSR Lorraine Williams, unfairly lambasted?

There were a few panels from Paizocon (at least one used to be on YouTube) called "Secrets of TSR", which had a whole bunch of TSR Alums who worked in the main office talking about the work environment and how, for example, they had try to steal time to playtest product off the clock, because...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

Also, if you're looking a way to get through some of these on your commute, a lot of the Forgotten Realms books are available from Audible, though they are something of a mixed bag. The Drizzt Do'Urden books are generally solid, whereas stuff like Darkwalker on Moonshae is... less so (Darkwalker...

WotC Could D&D Rights Be Stripped From WotC?

I suspect that someone might be more inclined to try to strip copyright for a campaign setting than the game as a whole - Dragonlance, Greyhawk, or the Forgotten Realms.

So, I hate pdfs. Any advice on hating them less?

The problem I've had with PDFs is finding the right reader for a tablet - one that lets me browse my PDF library while also allowing me to work with a PDFs table of contents so I can more easily skim through information (like going from the map of a dungeon to the write-up of a particular room)...

Unearthed Arcana New UA Paladin and Bard.

Minor aside, but I suspect that if we get a ($Planeswalkers) Guide to the Multi-Verse, I'm willing to guess they'll go with Karn.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon + #27

Is Dragon+ at all available in a PDF or HTML version? I'm hesitant to use the app as the last time I used the app (admittedly a year or so ago), it bricked my phone.

TSR When TSR Passed On Tolkien

That is awesome. My hope is that around the time the Amazon LotR series comes out and the general public (or people who sell things to the general public) starts thinking about Lord of the Rings again, this gets picked up by Target (or it even gets picked up by Target before that).

TSR When TSR Passed On Tolkien

That's kind of an unreasonable comparison - that's equivalent to saying that your online first person shooter is not succeeding and can never be successful because it's not doing as well as Fortnite.

TSR When TSR Passed On Tolkien

The Decipher license was hamstrung by (IIRC) being limited to the material contained in the films and the first three books. The Cubicle 7 license came around after most bookstores stopped carrying RPGs, which, if you want to improve visibility to expand the market (before the existence of RPG...
