Oh really? Well, that should be interesting. :)

    It's interesting to see...

Several years ago I started adding components to my D&D 3.5 game that made it run more smoothly and cinematically, like action points (that functioned like drama points in Unisystem) and combat maneuvers from th Book of Iron might. I simplified monster stat blocks and used my laptop to full...

    It's interesting to see...

It's good to see that the hype was warranted. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the rulebook and finding some people on campus to play with. :D I do think, however, that it's still a pretty good idea to be dubious of any claim that a representative of a company makes. In any...

    D&D @ High Levels = No Problem?

Ditto, and no problems at all so far. Mix of casters and non-casters, and no one seems irrelevant at all.

D&D 4E The State of Greyhawk in 4E?

;) Seriously, though, this is good news. Greyhawk is my favorite setting, and I would love to see something official done with the it in 4e.

Monte Cook's Book of Experimental Might II: Bloody, Bold, and Resolute

In the sense you are describing here, how is a DM bringing a laptop to the gaming table different from one bringing a DM's screen and notes and papers and rulebooks? Both kinds of DM will have to on ocassion look away from the players' faces, after all, to consult whatever resources they have...

    PHB errors and reprint schedule

Heh. What's worse is that they do so much copying and pasting of rules and equipments lists and such that these editing errors get repeated in so many different rulebooks. Quite an epidemic, really. Sure. So am I. But the editing in WotC books still sucks. ;)

    PHB errors and reprint schedule

Good point. I certainly wouldn't want to do what the editors at WotC do for a living. Still...they ARE editors, and thus editing is the focus of their job. They SHOULD be good at it. It's inevitable that an error would sneak in, but it's really shocking to me that so many have been...

    PHB errors and reprint schedule

Yes, yes I have. *shudders* I thought that WotC had lots of unpaid interns who could serve as "proofreading monkeys." Oh, I find plenty of errors in the textbooks that I use. But the number is really small when compared to the number I find in the average gaming book, which was my point...

    PHB errors and reprint schedule

I am going to be all ironic and quote the Wikipedia entry on what constitutes a Straw Man argument. One such definition is: "Inventing a fictitious persona with actions or beliefs that are criticized, such that the person represents a group of whom the speaker is critical." To me, this seems...

    PHB errors and reprint schedule

Oh, I'm well aware of the outrageous price of textbooks, since I teach at a college and all. So do you think that if gaming books were priced higher, say $50 for a core rulebook, that the editing would be better? The problem is that some gaming books are priced that high, and the editing STILL...

    PHB errors and reprint schedule

Apparently so.... Without a doubt--but they still do a poor job. The other RPG books are simply dismal rather than being just badly edited. Thankfully! :D
