How much damage can I take by running headfirst into a wall?

1d4 for every 10 feet charged.

    Take the Narrative Wounding Challenge.

Take into consideration that there is a major artery there (the Brachial artery to be exact) and if you cut that, not only will you most likely die, but if you do manage to survive you'll lose that arm. Another one actually came about as a critical, however it was not what you were originally...

    Take the Narrative Wounding Challenge.

You are struck by the orc's cruel blade, it skims across your armor and finds you're left arm, as the blade sinks in deep you are spun around, landing on the ground. You are at -2.

What weapons are safest for the fumble prone?

Dire Flail. We have a 5% chance of rolling a natural 1, at least look dope when it happens.

    Call of Cthulhu or Traveler?

I run a gaming club at my school (or at least I run the table top areas of it) and can afford to get 1 single game for $40. Call of Cthulhu or Traveler post reasons why for both. Remember, it is to have a single game played in one 4-hour period, so that should be taken into account.

    Overpowered?

Why did you tell everyone my plan? Fighter/Rogue/Kensai who focuses on the greatbow? Why would you do this to me? As for it being over powered, I don't think so, it just means you did a good job.

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

Hit Points are an easy way of keeping track of how much damage your character can take before he or she dies. The narrative aspect should totally be up to the DM/GM/Ref/Judge, if a book tells me how to narrarate, I will not buy it or I will not listen. The DM/GM/Ref/Judge should be incontrol...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

In general, hit points are not very narrative-like for gauging health. Unless you add 'where you were hit' and adjust minuses for that To make a realistic health system you would take forever for certain parts, like where you hit, how bad the limb was harmed, ect. ect. While this could be...

    the Dungeon Menu?

Well...for my smaller group, that I've been playing with for a decade, I do not allow eating, and not to be mean, but I suffer from noise anxiety and hyper sensitivity, so loud chewing or crunchy founds bothers the f-bomb out of me, like to the point that I almost enter a 3e rage, it's not good...

    the Dungeon Menu?

I tend to ask these questions often, such as "does you're group do X?" well this is the same question, what does you're group eat? Do you all bring you're own food? Do you all do a pot-luck type thing? Do you all pitch in money for snacks? I could ask a question on a poll and get numbers, but...

I don't get the dislike of healing surges

I liked the story about the cat....just thought I'd say something about that. But are we really arguing over this? Healing surges are not realistic, but honestly...neither is any of D&D, isn't that why we play it? to escape the real world into that kickass world where we slay dragons and save...

    So what's wrong with Palladium?

It's actually an over looked thing, but the XP in Rifts is based on the challenge, and not as a party, but as single characters so the rogue scholar would get more XP for fighting a dragon than a Glitterboy and I actually banned the glitteryboy as a starting thing, you can be the pilot, but...

    D&D 3.x AD&D vs 3e?

So, I half want this thread to become an edition war, but not with 4e, it's just a theory I have that, unlike popular belief, there were just as many 3e haters as 4e haters, or more then once thought... I am not going to take sides on any of the editions, but I'd like to know what you're...

    Free beer!

Perhaps pre-3e would be better, it would get better lists anyways, I thought it was...did OD&D come in the white box as "Men & Magic", "Monsters & Treasure" and "Wilderness & Underworld Adventures"? I feel I need to learn this, please do explain, for I am ignorant and wish to learn. Please?

    Free beer!

I could have sworn there were 1e adventures, I must be mistaken...actually, it was a goodman games 1e module line, i thought "maybe someone else did this way before" but I was wrong 2e modules work well too...pretty much I'm looking for a good starting session for people who have never played...
