Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Shi still looks rather out of it but manages to pull himself together long enough to work his way into the stew, accompanying each bite with alternating tea and cold water. He seems to begin feeling better immediately afterwards and manages to stumble out of the booth. He leaves behind a neatly...

Shi Ye groans from his booth as he wakes bleary eyed. Peering around the room he manages to find Artemis and he mumbles something about his head before collapsing again. His head falls onto his crossed arms but he doesn't seem to be out, just in pain. Yeah the approval is only needed when the...

I have an adventure waiting for approval but it's my first attempt so we'll see how it goes! Could we get a role call of character types and levels? Also if this is a first or second character? Think 4 players is probably the max # for my adventure...

Shi Ye taps his foot in time with the music, smiling as everyone joins in and he follows behind and slightly off-beat with his rumbling bass. He looks a little wary of the tankard, never having drank anything stronger than a watered down rice wine. Carried away by the moment he takes a long...

Question - Is there a reason there are no Monks?

I swear I didn't read your background for inspiration! lol, and it seems like we share powers as well! I also used translation sites to come up with Shi Ye's name! Zhen doesn't happen to have a strange birthmark to go along with his feather does he? ;)

    DM Software

Thanks for all the quick responses and suggestions. GIMP is definitely my fall back seems like it would be pretty easy since you just have to make a grid and then import a map layer and character tokens on their own layers. Will look at maptools and see how I like that, thanks again! One...

    DM Software

What do you other DMs use for map software? Just thinking of maps for the battles. Could do a simple grid with letters but would like to be able to use a grid overlay with a map and images for characters and monsters. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Shi Ye looks momentarily confused, he is neither man nor mountain. He smiles in what he assumes to be a pleasant smile at the tiefling, baring his large teeth and small but still very noticeable tusks. There is something about the tiefling that irks Shi Ye, but he can't put his over sized...

Shi Yen nods to the tiefling as he watches him with interest. As the tiefling plucks at his strings Shi Yen hums a few low notes quietly. He is surprisingly close to being in tune.

Shi Ye smiles broadly in response, this is one of those adventurers who he used to read about. His expression sobers quickly and he nods, "That is good Artemis, all need motivation for good deeds and sounds like you've plenty." You'll definitely fit in as long as there are no other players to...

The large half orc sets his book down on the table. Looking up at the outstretched hand. Standing, he shakes the human's outstretched hand, inclining his head slightly as he does. His voice is still rough from lack of use, and in his gravelly bass he says "Shi Ye. You're here for adventure...

Shi Ye waited in silence for his meal to return, thanking the bar maid politely and dropping a silver piece in her hand. He turned his attention to the over sized soup which he ate quickly, finishing his water along with the soup. Shi Ye looked around the room once again before he pulled a...

Shi Ye An over sized half orc pushes through the door. He nods to the room as he removes a pack from his shoulders. Moving to the nearest empty table he takes a seat, setting his pack down beside him. He remains silent until a barmaid approaches him, leaning over enticingly as she asks what...

Question - Is there a reason there are no Monks?

Thanks! Consider him copied! Think I'm going half orc for the interesting nature of the character. Short tempered but attempting to keep his calm. Very undiplomatic but attempts to be nice, problem isn't his lack of social niceties but a gruffness to his personality. We'll see how it goes, was...
