I would like more variety. I really like Wizards stuff. But it's generally more of the same. Another class. More feats. More powers. Another fairly random dungeon with a minimum of motivation. I'd like more different stuff. Not so much crunch. Fluffier. And adventures that are not just...

It's ok, as background music, but not great. It's a lot like a movie soundtrack without the parts that marks really dramatic points, which can be distracting. This also makes it bland. And, quite frankly, they're not great musicians. Muzak for gaming.

Large races have other problems than balance problems, as well. How do you fit it into a normal house? Or even a lot of dungeons? If you put a large guy in front of your party in your average 10' corridor noone else gets to fight. Should Wizards make all adventures suited for large PCs? Or...

You mean, they had that in 3e, where there was no Dark Sun (well, almost none). And that makes it iconic for the Dark Sun version of the race? In 2e they doubled what they rolled on their hp dice - why would not that be iconic instead? ;) Or perhaps we should just say that in 4e they can ignore...

At a quick look it seems to be a controller inclined to control mostly one enemy at a time, but doing decent damage. Fun class - I could definitely see myself playing one!

I have a sheet with the average stats for soldiers, controllers, skirmishers, etc, at various levels. When I improvise I just take those and run with it.

And bosun (or even boson) is an alternate spelling, and more phonetic, of boatswain. Just to nitpick right back at you. ;)

A bit tricky to do that, as WoD was out the same year. I don't remember the months they came out, but both are -91 products. Maybe they grew out of the same sentiments - but WoD had no time to inspire it.
