I must say that, detailed as they are, and lovable in their own way, the Hârn maps lack flair. There's no fantasy there, no inspiration.
Likewise a satellite image would be a horrible map for a game, in particular fantasy.
A good game map should inspire. The old Glorantha maps are good at that...
There's a good deal catalogued here, in the old wiki. I don't think much new stuff has been added for a while, however.

Duh, severely ninjaed.
[Edit, again]
Removed the link to the deprecated wiki. This is where you ought to go.
Oh, yeah, the combat example, how AoO's were supposed to work. There was a lot of really critical advice I got here then. I had forgotten that!
And the first 3pp stuff - Green Ronin's Freeport scenarios! I wouldn't have found all those good bits without
This is from an old group I played with, though I wasn't present when this happened.
It was a new Cthulhu scenario. The PCs had an old house as a headquarter.
The doorbell rang. A trigger happy PC with low SAN (both the player and the character, really) fired his elephant gun through the door...
I was a real RQ freak.
It faded out in the years when it wasn't supported. Today it feels clunky and unwieldy.
And the Mongoose edition is just shoddy.
Wow, has it been so long? I haven't been here all the time, didn't find it until early 2000.
But a heartfelt thanks to you guys! Eric, Morrus, P-Cat & all the other mods and people behind the scenes.
And, also, all the members who make this site great!
Oooooh, yes!
Original campaign, not necessarily 4e tropes. I think I might reach nerdvana (or it could be my persistant fever, of course, but I'm a little bit light headed).
I give all my minions a save against any damage that does not entail an attack roll against them personally.
(Any damage that is a result of an attack roll against them, like ongoing damage, acts as normal.)
I was actually thinking perhaps a hazard to make them sick - the disease track is too good to leave out of the equation.
How does it work in SW? How does it infect?
