Which of these would you like to see in 2015 from WotC?

We were talking about the Paizo era, so that's print. I do agree it had a very uninteresting period for a while, but I think they recognised that and started taking it seriously. Can't recall which issues exactly, but toward the very end. I remember thinking like you that it was rather...

D&D 5E (2014) Magic Initiate feat spell + Warlock spell slot?

I can't see how a spellcaster learning another level one spell at the cost of a feat could be too powerful. If you take a level wizard you can add any number of level one spells to your spell book, and use with you warlock slots. The feat is evidently not written to be taken by spellcasters.

D&D 5E (2014) Magic Initiate feat spell + Warlock spell slot?

Yes, it doesn't matter where the spell slot comes from, as long as it is of appropriate level. D&D makes no difference between one spell slot and another.

Which of these would you like to see in 2015 from WotC?

I have to disagree there. Many of the issues at the end were excellent, with lots of world material. It was mostly greyhawk stuff, but usable for anyone. The Demonomicon of Igglw, the writeups about the different gods and their worship, geographical backdrops (mainly for the APs). Good stuff.

Which of these would you like to see in 2015 from WotC?

Good conversion guidelines, and perhaps even converted stuff, from older material would be nice.

Which of these would you like to see in 2015 from WotC?

I don't really feel I need the magazines in print. Though it would be nice. But I really want Dragon and Dungeon, in the right hands.

    Answering your own question

On a couple of occasions I've googled for something, mainly Glorantha related, and found my own posts from mailing lists archived since the 90's. It is mostly embarrassing, and shocking for the flamey tone that was common around there then. It made me love strict moderation in forums.

    D&D 5E (2014) predictions for D&D in 2015

I do not expect a manual of the planes next year. I expect it when the years big adventure is a Planescape thing. Possibly 2016.

    D&D 5E (2014) predictions for D&D in 2015

I'd call them ottoman elite slave soldiers of foreign extraction, but more or less the same question. I predict a fairly good OGL that allows for good third party support, and more interesting licensing. I really hope for the return of Dragon & Dungeon, perhaps under the auspices of another...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does 5e have anything like Ironwood

Some time I must learn to associate 'ironwood' with the spell/material rather than the long defunct comic book. Which was very good, if very NSFW. The mental images formed by thread subjects are more interesting, though.

Lone Wolf Prepping to bring D&D 5th Edition to HEROLAB!

Their chances seem very slim, to say the least, if nothing spectacular happens. Sidekick has a very good rate of predicting the success of kickstarters, and they judge it has no chance of succeeding.

Lone Wolf Prepping to bring D&D 5th Edition to HEROLAB!

I'll postpone celebration 'till the OGL, and what is in it, is disclosed. If there are large chunks that are not allowed in Hero labs I cannot see much use for it. (Nor can I blame wizards if they do not want to put it all out for free.)

D&D 5E (2014) What to do with ball bearings?

BB shot are quite a bit smaller, though. And perhaps you can fire them - but not well. There are reasons historical sling bullets were not birdshot size. Even a random rock is probably better. (Still does not answer who manufactures all those ball bearings, and why, and how at such an...

    D&D 5E (2014) Cursed Items and Identify

Cursed items not being Identifiable has a long tradition in D&D. And if it were it'd basically make cursed items pointless. The bit about learning the properties in a short rest is vague because different campaigns and DMs want to do it different ways. You can do it the 4e way, getting full...

D&D 5E (2014) What to do with ball bearings?

They weigh 0.002 lbs each. (That is 0.032 ounces, or 0.9 gram.) Far too small and light to be usable as sling shot - not even as buckshot. They'd go all over the place and have no kinetic force.* And besides, there is this. * If you could even launch them. Put small stuff in a sling and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape Lives!

Is this still a D&D5 thread? I wish Trapdoor all the best, but I can't see that kicker going anywhere. In particular for yet another PF tool. Trapdoor has invested a lot, and, for what I know, might need this to save the company, so I understand if they go for PF - they have to try, after...

    Spellbook Cards

4 out of 5 rating for Spellbook Cards Spell cards are very useful. Put the spells you have prepared in a card holder and you have a handy spell book.Concentration isn't marked on these cards, but on the other hand you know it requires concentration when it says 'up to 1 min.', instead of '1...

Mearls announces end of Legends & Lore & New D&D Columns in 2015!

I think it sounds pretty good. I'm very interested to hear more about the thoughts behind the choices they've made. A Dungeon with more adventures would be very, very good however. I really hope they make one/license others to do it, or at least let it be made under a reasonably liberal OGL...
