4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

He should consider finishing about a dozen other books first :p But great ideas as always, UK, would love to see rules for them... And I'm looking forward to epic PF as well.

Thanks a lot mate, already interesting new ideas. Looking forward to the rest of your ideasm whatever you want to share! :)

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Hey UK, I just went over some articles of the back then upcoming monster books on your old website. You mentioned the hierarchy of the Umbrals in a preview, and it would be awesome if you could post a few of your ideas about that. I'm pretty sure your design philosophy for them changed with...

D&D 4E The yet still complete list of official 4E D&D products: now with new format!

Ah, my fault. If I open the Product Catalog it goes straight to the "Accessories" page instead of showing "All". Didn't see that so thanks for pointing it out :)

D&D 4E The yet still complete list of official 4E D&D products: now with new format!

Anybody know why "Madness of Gardmore Abbey" isn't in WotC's product listings anymore? Really hope they didn't push it back as well.

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Well, this would get me in a small copyright problem, seeing as I got most of the monsters from pictures on the net. So unfortunately I don't think so :) Of course, was just an example how I would avoid the need to use a monster that is too high level. Well, that's definitely an interesting...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

And I have repeatedly said that I have more than enough in store to fill the next 16 levels easily. But alright, maybe lets agree that this new tier would be well-suited for me, but not so much for the other DMs who have nothing to populate the new tier with. Yeah, I guess it becomes apparent...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Ah, you're such a tease :) Not really. As I'd space out the range bewteen epic and divine, there is enough material and inspiring locations to draw from on the standard planes. In my version you wouldn't be done with The Abyss, The Nine Hells or any of the other major planes in the Astral Sea...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

I hoped you would elaborate a bit, do you plan to have one, two or three more tiers after that (just for the sake of presenting a complete framework of course)? And would the level range in the higher tiers also be always 10? Exactly. Of course one needs to alter his view of epic characters if...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Well, maybe I should have read-up on the Forsaken once more before making the comment, forgot they should be treated as demigods. But maybe it really lies with the designed mechanics of such epic monsters. For the ususal combat encounters with a group of PCs the stat blocks are fine (at least...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

So you see 4-5 elite Forsaken as a way bigger threat than an Ancient Red Dragon? Hard to imagine...maybe equal. But threatening an area so much bigger than the dragon with such a small group ? Also I think that's why my idea about a Legendary Tier (see Post# 714) isn't that bad. I think the...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Hey UK mate It's pretty strange when I look at the heroic tier of the new list. You'll have Azer and Githyanki together with Orcs and Goblins in the same tier. But I guess one can find some reasons why heroic tier characters could come into contact with such opponents. Anyway, halfway done :)

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Yeah, it's coming along nicely. Will post a list here for you to go over, if you choose to do so, when I'm finished. Ah, well that's easy to remember. But don't you mean +4/+9? So a level 10 solo monster is a level 19 standard one instead? Or did I misunderstand something here... Sorry for...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Hey UK, two more questions if you don't mind. First, could you please list your take on the tiers and what level range they will/should have in your opinion? Second, do you generally support the fact that epic D&D characters should be able to challenge the gods? If I would expand my game to...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Mh, maybe I will take the time and assign new levels to the monsters in the MM I, according to your estimates. Should be entertaining and quite interesting to see how the list looks like at the end :) Ah true, you have a nice conversion formula to change the rank of the monsters. Could you...
  16. Rhuarc

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Well, you have a point there. Alright, so for example you would reduce a Marut Blademaster or a Fire Titan to level 11 (down from 21)? That would mean you need to change many of the monsters in the Paragon tier as well. I mean a Goristro demon (level 19) can't stay the same if the Balor gets...
  17. Rhuarc

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

I definitely agree with you there. And I'm convinced you can only have a really successful higher tier if the lower tiers are fitting and solid enough. Even though I'm sure they won't turn the epic tier into the form we want to see, they'll probably come up with a few nice and interesting things...

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Hey UK, there was a very interesting answer in this weeks Rule-of-Three article about Level 30+ 4E: Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Rule-of-Three: 05/09/2011) So, taking into account the time you need to finish your planned products, I guess we could see...
