    D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Champion

I skipped a bunch (sorry, but the last 4 pages I read wasn't really adding much), but my one change I would make to the Champion archetype would be to apply the Athletic level bonus (sorry, books at home) also to skills the character is proficient in. Basically, +50% proficiency bonus to all...

Man, this thing is still going?

D&D 5E (2014) Daggers, Knives, and Darts...... Are there no Knives in 5E....?!?!?!

Agreed. Daggers are great killing weapons. Unfortunately, they are also pretty lousy fight-stopping weapons.

The 'New' World Of Darkness Makes Way For Chronicles Of Darkness And The World Of Darkness

Did the OWoD return involve a swap the more streamlined mechanics of NWoD?

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

I would do the same but make it a simple "held" initiative roll rather than trying to make some random exception that will only serve to bite me in the butt later when they all suddenly want to hold their actions for similar actionae interruptus later on. Once you set the precedent for such...

Best test? Just say, "It doesn't work that way. Let's carry on" and see what happens.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

I've played D&D games constantly since 1984. I've yet to be in a single situation where a non-counterspell mid-spell interruptive action was either discussed to this depth or was a pivotal moment in the story. If a player is honking about something like this, it's 100% about winning, not about...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

I see your point, but in all of the D&D rules, and your own gaming experience, you can't think of a single way to handle this situation except to try to build a rules interpretation that allows a character to squeeze an interrupting action in between Eldrich Blasts? Let's get serious here, bro...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

The part that I'm still trying to figure out is why all of this minutia is so dang important. If your player is that worried about being able to squeeze Effect X in between Eldrich Blast bolts, I can't help but point out that they very likely are just a teeny-tiny bit more worried about winning...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

As a former Magic: The Gathering player, I don't have an issue with the concept of "interrupting" actions. I figure it's just like Counterspell or similar effects in the card game which basically means that unless the effect specifically states that it's stopping another effect as it happens...

    D&D 5E (2014) Soooo, the melee ranger?

I personally find the issue in contention to be moot. If you just want a sneaky fighter that likes to hang out in the cuds then go with the Outlander background and take a race and/or feat that will add Stealth to the skills mix. If you want a complete Death Machine (tm) of a guerrilla fighter...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Correction: It actually is that simple, but there are people that disagree with the ruling. This is fine (as has been mentioned ad nauseum), but the points of contention are simply differing options for someone to consider for their individual table/game, not official rulings provided as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

And I just wish to add that I'm a bit disappointed that it snowballed the way it did. Yes, it was all but inevitable what with this being the Internet and all, but it's still disappointing.

D&D 5E (2014) [Forgotten Realms] The Wall of the Faithless

That's why I described it as a semi-joke/theology test, sir. The "Vending Machine God" is a huge theological issue here the United States.

D&D 5E (2014) Do most striker builds weaken a party?

And this how the Ranger is supposed to work. You "Hit and Git", going toe-to-toe only when you have selected the terrain that wears them down maximally until they get close enough for the beaters to get to work. I'm constantly amazed at how little people pay attention to the Ranger abilities out...

D&D 5E (2014) [Forgotten Realms] The Wall of the Faithless

And that's why I'm wondering what the all the honking is about. You have to try really, really hard to get chucked into the Wall when it comes right down to it. It's not like the old Protestant preacher semi-joke/theology test of driving down the highway when the 18-wheeler truck coming at you...

    D&D 5E (2014) Not liking Bounded Accuracy

I'm a big fan of the bounded accuracy/DCs for ability and skill checks as well. While the increases from one level to another are not that great, I very much appreciate the fact that you don't have to have ACs in the 30s for mobs once the party gets to level 10 or so.
