    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition Intelligence

My Paladin in the last campaign had a 9 and I played it having trouble with numbers and letters more than anything else. It was harder to read and write than it was to focus on the things he was good at so it largely fell by the wayside.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

I agree with the above assessment. Just keep in mind that there are situations where shoving the target around isn't a good idea, as evidenced by the party sorcerer/warlock in a few fights shoving the enemy into places where it became harder to fight them.

D&D 5E (2014) Daggers, Knives, and Darts...... Are there no Knives in 5E....?!?!?!

I think it's obvious that there are plenty of knives around in D&D. That said, if you want an actual weapon instead of a basic household tool, there is a listing for Daggers.

    D&D 5E (2014) Action & Reaction

Also keep in mind that the term, "reaction" means that you almost always will use an action of this type during another character's turn. These actions are almost always a response to another character's action(s).

D&D 5E (2014) [Forgotten Realms] The Wall of the Faithless

I could even offer to add free hookers and blow (kinda sounds like a devil temptation in the Fugue, huh?) and they still wouldn't do it, my friend.

D&D 5E (2014) [Forgotten Realms] The Wall of the Faithless

In the ancient Greek, "faith" and "trust" are the same word, for the Christian theology wonks. As for a few other comments, if you don't trust that it will work, why in the name of the gods would you be tossing good money and other material goods at the religious places for good fortune? One...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition character generator

There was very good Android 5th Ed character app. Unfortunately it wasn't official, had enough copywrite infringement to slow down China, and ended up getting pulled. I still have it on my tablet but lost it on my phone last time I replaced it.

D&D 5E (2014) Are players always entitled to see their own rolls?

Of course they can see their own rolls. The fact that they do the rolling is one of the best tools for keep them from being ticked off at the DM if luck turns against them...

D&D 5E (2014) DM's: what do you do with players who miss time?

To be frank, I call "BS" on the whole, "Well, I have a life outside of D&D..." excuse because I have a life, too. Every time I play D&D I'm there because I told someone else, or several someone's, that I'm busy with my D&D game that date. It's not about "having a life", it's a simple lack of...

D&D 5E (2014) [Forgotten Realms] The Wall of the Faithless

But the stories of the deniers are almost entirely filled with the heroes getting beat like redheaded stepchildren. As for Rome not caring about what not non-Romans believed, there's a whole mess of dead Jews and Christians that history points to respectful disagreement.

D&D 5E (2014) Breaking down the Fighter archetypes.

When I mentioned that I've been considering a Champion Fighter as my next character with my group, all I got was weird looks and "Are you sure you don't want a battle master instead?" :-S Yup!

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

I agree, Hemlock. My current group thinks "strategy and tactics" is waiting until round 2 before a headlong charge. Great guys, but they've been playing far too long to give me a blank stare when I mentioned the "Conga Line of Death".

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Good point. We're also talking about a very unique one-on-one situation. The far more typical situation will involve a multi-member party with mixed abilities and skillsets facing multiple opponents. That said, I think I've pretty well demonstrated that, barring play style preferences, the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Good point. Of course, a first-level very likely won't survive that first opportunity attack what with its redunkulous attacks and all. Minimum damage roll is going to take down 99%+ of Arcane, Divine, and Druidic casters. To be frank, the Githyanki will eventually get frustrated and just...

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Man, you have got to be a BEAR to buy presents for at Christmas, Mirtek. So let me get this straight... The Knight has blown all three Misty Steps for the low cost of three rounds on Trance and the free extra movement. Maybe a Shield or two because this guy is a freaking Death Machine(tm) that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Umm...double move 40' + 40' is longer than 30' + 30' Misty Step. Also, the Bladesinger can disengage, move 40' and Misty Step themselves to get out of melee range of a 30' move + Misty.

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

So by being smart, I'm somehow negating the other abilities? Every ability isn't going to apply to every situation, my friends. It was shown in the Orc battle above that the other three abilities are a great boon. Againt a Githyanki Knight? Not so much. Now add that a more traditional Wizard...

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Oh, you mean other than the fact that being a Bladesinger with extra movement makes such a strategy possible without spending spell resources? Not a thing.

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Hemlock, Githyanki Knights move 30' per turn. Is there a particular reason why the Tranced Bladesinger isn't just constantly dancing away and peppering it with Firebolts/<insert random damage cantrip here>? Sure Telekinesis is a pain...once. Jump and Misty Step can be frustrating as they get a...
