    low monster/magic adventures

Seems like useful tips. Thanks. The main thing I worry about is keeping things challenging and exciting. If you would look at it, I think you'll find that adventures (modules) can all be classified into a limited number of types. Introducing different monsters or arcana make the same sort of...

    Empires, Trade, and Gold!

Thinking about your game world's economy is commendable. I always found that economics were a way for the players to really interact with the world. But I never made any detailed models for this. Economy has always been a meta-plot element in my game world. Economical events can be important...

    low monster/magic adventures

In most d20 adventures typical monsters, magic items, wizards, spells, ... are a key element in the plot. I have no problem with that, but I'm having a hard time finding adventures that will fit a non-typical D&D-esque fantasy setting, say the Wheel of Time setting. Has anyone had this same...

[help] looking for "typical" 28/30 mm minis

If you're looking for militia-type miniatures, why not take a look at historical mini's? Old Glory for example will sell you a bag of 30 miniatures for about the same amount in US dollars. OG is just one company, there are many others that do medieval minatures. Do yourself a favour and save...

Is there just one type of arrow?

Maybe a modifier is in order when you're shooting with different arrows. Then it's up to the DM to decide if said arrow is OK or not. I find availibility of ammunition an interesting factor to keep player on their toes. It all depends on personal taste. But don't be tricked into the realism...

I didnt let a PC die

I agree for the most part. But don't forget that a tragi death can be as heroic as the grandest quest. Classic example: Boromir. Dying a good death can be as fulfilling as fulfilling the quest in heroic fantasy. But in the end: the gamemaster is always right.

(LOTR) A poll from the LOTR site that failed there, but might be of interest here

Sounds like a bad computer game. I have to agree about the Maiar, but I'm not to sure about the elves. It's been quite a while since I've read the Silmarillion, but I believe the only ones to best a balrog were sons of Fëanor.

What will be the next Campaign Setting you try out?

We have recently started our first 3E campaign and have already fallen utterly in love with the system (well, I have at least, but I believe the rest shares my enthusiasm.) But none the less, I'm already planning. An I have 3 things in mind: 1. Wheel of Time; still awaiting the adventure but I...
