How Big can a bow go?

ok, according to a straight conversion from the rules for weapons sizing, a large longbow would have 2d6 damage x3 modifier range 100 cost 150gp. so.. guess 1d10 doesn't sound bout right. doh!

Cool mysterious names of places (desert)

the painted desert the petrified forest hmmm.... i'd also actually suggest looking at some of the names used for features on mars - translated into english, they might make really neet names.. for example: the peacock mountain (pavonious mons) etc... but a trap filled maze leading...

D&D 4E What would you want to see in 4e?

first: please refer to the statement i chose to show as a fallacious argument. he has asserted that no extra-record keeping is required for an armor-as-dr system, and in support of his argument, asked someone else to prove the opposite. please, click on the link that has been provided and read...

Cool mysterious names of places (desert)

'burque. well, the geography jokes are just as bad, but at least comprehensible (so, i suppose that would be a yes ;) ).

Cool mysterious names of places (desert)

:D i did know the hotsprings NM history, was just wondering about the pseudo-math and couldn't for the life of me see how it would actually work... and you're right, i think feeble attempts at jokes are fairly common when trying to deal with new mexico! (i don't live here, really... just...

Cool mysterious names of places (desert)

while we're on the new mexico names subject... remember, the desert does weird things to people, and they end up naming their town things like Truth or Consequences.

D&D 4E What would you want to see in 4e?

Burden of Proof sorry glass, gotta do better than this. i might also add, i'd like to see you respond to a mathematical breakdown of a armor as DR system vs. the straight d20 AC system. yes, you may have already covered some points, but please, for the benefit of those who are really arguing...

    I need a ship

Maiden of the High Seas. it's not that expensive, but it does take a bit of time to put together.

D&D 4E What would you want to see in 4e?

glass, as much as i do agree with the logical construction of your refuting arguments, i must also point out that you use the same flaws which you point out. for example: is an Argument from Authority...

    Best Setting Books?

i'm throwing in another suggestion for Kingdoms of Kalamar. it has a really nice sourcebook without all that much crunch, but loads of interesting places for adventures.

    Next Expanded/3.5 book should be

personally, i would love to see an updated Al-Quadim. i have much nostalgia for how cool that setting actually was... i also wouldn't mind seeing updated OA, though updated Kara-Tur might also really have widespread appeal to all the FR people out there...

Expanding D&D adventures past mere combat

i'm actually seeing this problem in the Age of Worms storyline that's currently being published. there's a fun and interesting story going on behind the scenes, HOWEVER, the players have no way (yet) to really get the information that makes up the story. if, as a DM, i were to give them the...

    Targetting lapsed gamers

it's interesting, but i've very rarely met anyone who's been addicted (to the point of neglecting fun things like d&d) to an MMORPG more than once. so, bemoan the loss of friends, but remember - in a few years the magic of MMO's does wear off, and then everything just looks like a (MMO of your...

    Race Help

i think hags would be a good surprise, but they have indeed been mentioned already. aside from that...beholders maybe? or aboleths?

Do you read non-RPG fantasy novels?

yes, i read fantasy novels. i also read science fiction, and general literature. predominantly i read science fiction, though - it takes a really good fantasy to get me involved. next: hp lovecraft is NOT rpg related in my mind. his work came out LONG before role-playing started. michael...
