I'm hoping to make the April event as well (January is out, unfortunately). And as a sort of preview I'm looking to run a Hollow Earth Expedition game titled "Reign of the Radar Men." For those in the know, I ran this at the last DC Gameday.

12 to Midnight specializes in horror and produces material for D20 Modern and Savage Worlds. Their material should complement a Dark*Matter campaign quite well, I'd think.

The designer/owner of Deeds Not Words has moved on to other projects; writing novels. The game is designed to work with D&D 3.0. There was talk of updating it to D20 Modern, but that never happened. There is another group converting the system to D20 Modern, calling it the Pheonix Project...

Africa and Asia would be good. North America might be interesting. An off-world location for more sci-fi Victorian Age adventures might be fun (might be best to avoid Mars)...the Moon? (EDIT: admittedly, off-world would me more "artistic license" than what the line may be going for.)

I've bought some minis from Oryan77 and got my order quick and complete. Don't know if that is enough of a recommendation, but I've had a good experience with him.

I hope this is a successful strategy for you. A "problem" with some universal or generic systems is lack of settings. I would highly suggest that the settings be as detail as is reasonably possible...those which only scratch the surface and those with little support just don't seem to get the...

Crystal Castle does a line of minatures called eM-4; which are "solid pewter and pre-painted." They're pricey ($25 per set of 5 minis), but generally the paint job is quite decent. EDIT: Not plastic, but still good for D&D gaming.

My first trip to NC Gameday was whopping good time! I didn't sign-up ahead of time to play any particular game, so thanks to Henry and Torm for letting me "sit in." The Chasm of Death and the "you guys lasered in on the end of the game" where fond memories indeed!
