It's finally happened, you've all been possessed by demons. I'm gonna go panic in a corner.

Sorry to post this here, but... is WotC down?

Another guess - do you have any software that intercepts / scans links? Spyware detectors or antivirus? They can sometimes cause specific URLs to time out.

Sorry to post this here, but... is WotC down?

Oddly enough, when I ping forums.gleemax.com, I get 100% packet loss as well. But the site loads. Well, I have no idea why you can't load it, but did you try power cycling your modem / router?

Sorry to post this here, but... is WotC down?

Hello. I'm using Firefox 3.5, and the WotC forums load just fine. Normal speeds. Are these forums the only websites you can't access?

Strange, cheap dice at Five Below

I'd love to roll those for totally random NPC social reactions.

    Epic Woes

No way, not for me. If an option is providing +40 damage while all the other options are providing +10 damage (all else being equal), I'll definitely knock that +40 to +10 rather than fiddle with potentially large parts of my story.

    Chargen Fun, Game not-so-much

I'm gonna have to go with TMNT as well. Intriguing character generation, but bizarre game mechanics otherwise.

Where can I find Bard At-Will CUTTING WORDS?

Hi, it's legit. It's one of the new at-will cards that come with a box of official mini's. PH Heroes Preview 3 As for its power level, I assume the powers on these cards haven't been playtested as much as the ones in the books, so they may need some tender loving touch by the DM. You should...

Why the beer hate? (Forked Thread: What are the no-goes...)

I deal with it on a case by case basis. Some people are awful to game with while drinking. Others are perfectly fine.

    What is your alignment?

But what function does this serve, other than as a "what you think my character's alignment is" vs. "what I think my character's alignment is" metagame?

    What is your alignment?

4e is pretty careful to separate out a character's powers from his behavior. No class loses powers based on ethos violations - at least that's the default assumption.

    What is your alignment?

I think Regicide's point is, play your charcter the way you want to portray him/her. It really shouldn't matter what's written in the alignment space - if you want to play him as what you think is "lawful good," then play him as lawful good. If you've got a good grasp on what you want to do with...

When and why were the factions driven out of Sigil?

I love those things man. Your PCs never even really need to see one. Just the idea of one can spur on a lot of nice, panicky adventures.

When and why were the factions driven out of Sigil?

The Second Unhuman War was a part of Spelljammer from its inception, so it's not really a setting cataclysm like the others that Nymrohd listed.

Forked thread: Meta portion of the "Class Acts" bard thread

The thread seems fine to me. It generated some relevant discussion about the article. As well, the original poster contributes thoughts himself a few posts down. Anyway, I prefer individual article discussion. I'll just skip the ones that don't interest me.

    OD&D = social mobility, 4e does not

I'm frankly quite boggled by how you came to any of these conclusions through examination of edition mechanics.

When and why were the factions driven out of Sigil?

That's what I was implying. I haven't. Irrelevant. I've not found the flavor aspects of 4e "default" setting to affect its game mechanics. I've been a fan of PS since its very beginning, and I've played D&D since the BECMI days, and I don't find anything about 4e that clashes mechanically...

When and why were the factions driven out of Sigil?

I agree. Planescape had tons and tons of fantastic descriptions and histories, while being very mechanics-minimalist. Most of the "stat blocks" were half a line of game information. I'm actually thinking of running a 4e Planescape game.

Stacking penalties, solos, and . . . *sigh* sadness. :(

Solos have a fundamental design problem. They're supposed to be equal to five creatures, but in most cases they present a much easier fight than five creatures. The issue pertaining to your case is that any debilitating effects applied to a solo is, encounter wise, theoretically equivalent to...
