    Delete my account please

Hey now. Tacos are delicious in English/Spanish and Japanese. EDIT: OMG, genius flash, taco tacos!

    Delete my account please

Don't make me derail this thread into one about tacos. I'm serious, I'm crazy and I'll do it.

Legends and Lore: A Different Way to Slice the Pie

I fundamentally disagree with Cook's assertion, agree with Doctor Proctor's. If there's a rule element that would work the same in 12 different situations, it simplifies things to call it one thing and define it instead of writing out the same rule 12 different times. Incidentally, as I...

    Legends and Lore: Customized Complexity

Ugh. I'd rather have 3 subsystems that are integral to the game, than 6 that are all totally optional. There is a cost of space and rules design to making subsystems optional; it's not free and easy.

    Dropping a shield

I walk to work every day carrying 8 shields. It's awesome.

Would you rat out a friend who killed a bad guy?

Option C: I would blow up the world with the Death Star. EDIT: Well darn it. If I ever blow up the world with a Death Star this post is totally being used against me in trial. :(

Why didn't I think about this before?

If I'm understanding Rechan correctly, there would be essentially no change in the stats of the monsters from what's in the monster books. He's just advocating a new scheme of organizing the information, that's all.

    Legand & Lore: Magic Items

We've not used +X items for most of 3e and 4e. The game broke horribly and we're now living in horrible sewers. Just kidding, the sewers are pretty okay.

I made up a rumour that 7e is coming!

Okay, we get it. I'm not particularly fond of the 5e speculation either but come on.

New Star Trek TV Series In Development

Be that as it may, there's a point in any story where fate is just an excuse for shoddy writing. This happened in the episodic Star Trek quite a bit as well, and I found those episodes as goofy as the movie. But there were plenty of episodes that were thought provoking and didn't have to involve...

New Star Trek TV Series In Development

The new movie was a logical crap hole. I mean, it was "cool," but not cool enough to buffer the enormous ridiculousness of the plot. Getting all angry in the past and blowing up someone's planet who's only marginally involved in the future destruction of your world, instead of, you know, warning...

Which Essentials class do you like the most?

    Mage, executioner, blackguard.

    The "necessary optimization" argument

I tend to build optimized characters, but in no way is this necessary in D&D, any edition.

    Diagonal Measuring

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, as it doesn't get in the way of my immersion. However I acknowledge that what promotes immersion is subjective to a large degree, so I wouldn't say one method is superior to the other.

We have a lot of redundancy in common speech though. Anyway it's interesting that people are all bothered by it for different reasons. No biggie either way though, I don't think I've ever used it. Other than in "Millions of Peaches" sense. PEACH this PEACH

    Thanks for All the Fish

When I find the rare urge to start quoting famous figures in heated support of principles on a board such as this, I just take a step back and go "haha, why so serious, me?" There are weightier things to invest your emotional energy in.

I never really understood the hostility towards this acronym; just seems like regular shorthand to me.

    Mallus Rediscovers AD&D

Sounds excellent! I loved every edition of D&D, for different reasons each. I'd play any of them in a heart beat with a good DM.
