What level is your average local NPC?

Regular people can do exactly what my plot requires them to do, which I don't put in stats. If that cranky old man needs to know what a frost giant baby eats, for some reason, he just knows. I don't try to figure out that he's X level with a +X frost giant baby check. The only time stats need...

    Thunder Summons: sorcerer attack 17

It says you can do the clause. I can see it's a bit syntactically ambiguous, but given that riders don't take away options, rather increase them, I see it as an either or.

    Thunder Summons: sorcerer attack 17

It doesn't make it any worse; it makes it better. 1) It says you can teleport the target next to an ally, not that you must. 2) Sometimes you want to teleport an enemy to your defender. As to the OP, you make an attack roll and apply Hit: results, in sequence, one target after another. Think...

    Creating a Permanent Teleportation Circle?

Yep, "Create Teleportation Circle" ritual, Manual of the Planes, p. 149. Level 15, cost is 1000 gp per square, plus 5 healing surges. It lasts 24 hours, but it can be sustained by spending 1 healing surge per day. If it's sustained for a year + a day (harsh!), it becomes permanent. Although...

The Elemental Chaos as the main campaign setting: What races should I use?

Perhaps a slightly modified, fire-themed version of the goliath, as a nod to the fire giants that are common there.

    Email Recaps-Good or bad idea?

If you're willing to put in the time to do recaps, I think most players would enjoy it. I know I would.

    Decoupling actions and skills

    1. As far as my players go, it's always been the latter than the former. And we've been using the skill system as-is. 2. What you're good at should have an impact on your decision-making process.

    Player not listening!

Bah! You should give up S'mon, you can't hope to match your son's DMing greatness. Is he taking players?

    Charging through an ally?

I'm so proud of myself for figuring out that this meant "I Don't Have My 4e Books In Front of Me"! Yay me! Hurray aurance!!!!! ... Yeah... I don't get out much.

What's the big deal with "feat taxes?"

This is a good point. Take whatever feats / powers that make your character better numerically, but that needn't be used to constrain how you role-play your character.

    Charging through an ally?

There's no "clear path" phrase. If you can move through it, you can charge through it. You can even charge through difficult terrain. (PHB even notes this under the "movement requirements" of Charge: "Moving over difficult terrain costs extra squares of movement as normal.")

What's the big deal with "feat taxes?"

"Taxes" are a bad term for these. Really, they're not any more than they appear to be. With them, you have X*5% more chance of hitting, and X*5% less chance of being hit. They're certainly not required in your game; how often your characters hit and are hit is a function of what you and your...

Healthy snacks & drinks for gaming?

Oh I soooooo want to try this! On topic, try 1"x1" squares of plain lettuce. For the win.

I'm not sure I buy the Fullblade

Hah! This is really really really cool and original. This alone might make me play a genasi. To Mercurius, in reality, a sword bigger than a greatsword/zweihander would be a bit unrealistic. However mechanically it works, as it requires an extra feat. You could consider just reskinning "weapon...

    Single melee weapon ranger

A lot of the beast ranger powers work better with a big two-hander instead of two weapons. And of course they can take ranged powers like any other ranger. If you're not opposed to keeping a critter.

Why are thrown weapons so underwhelming?

Rogue with daggers, thrown or otherwise, is still quite good. You just have to be a bit more resourceful about getting combat advantage if you're going thrown only; Distant Advantage plus a selection of powers that give you CA.

The Class Compendium articles are great!

    1) Even so, there's no reason they couldn't have been combined into one block and made less verbose. 2) I just did a very cursory examination of the e-powers, and saw many instances of "this is what it looks like" followed by "this is what it looks like" in slightly different terms.
