Ignoring the feat requirement for swapping...

Agreed with keterys and Herschel. Yes, if you just pick another class's power for flavor, chances are the feat cost may be too much. But there exist a great many builds where a smartly chosen out-of-class power is definitely worth a feat.

Answer is no. I guess my question to you is, what makes you think Bob would make any kind of OA?

    Flaming Weapon Stealth Errata?

Incidentally, I never understood why it makes more sense for something made of elemental fire to be automatically assumed to be immune to fire attack. They could be two different "types" of fantasy fire. The fire of the attack can certainly be a "foreign body" and therefore quite possibly...

    Weem's "Grade your DM-skills" Challenge...

A - Rules mastery, and running exciting adventures. B - Making sure each player gets their due time. C - Improv. Like, plot improv. Related to the next item... D - I kinda suck at making adventures. This is why I've started using pre-pub adventures in the framework of my own world, and I've...

    Swimming/drowning with armour on

I wouldn't worry too much about swimming in armor, if you don't worry about having to resize armor found in treasure, etc.

Homebrewing Dark Sun Themes- Innate Mage and Alley Rat

The damage bonus thing is tricky. I might limit it to 1/turn to prevent multi-attack nova scaling. Other than that it looks good. Flavorful. The extra skill is no big deal if everyone gets it and you'll be tweaking DCs anyway.

D&D 4E Remember when 4e fans laughed at Pathfinder for having rules for stairs?

I agree. But the title makes it seem like there was a cadre of 4e fans that made fun of "rules for stairs" when it was just like... one random dude. I for one didn't even know it had rules for stairs and I didn't care.

Switching from bow to swords - how does it work?

""You can draw a weapon..." does not imply that you can draw only a singular item, in the same way that "you can draw weapons..." does not imply you must draw two or more weapons. Sorry, you are not being syntactically precise. The indefinite articles "a" and "an" don't exclusively infer a...

Switching from bow to swords - how does it work?

No, because the drawing items part of Quick Draw is explicitly dependent on the usage action that it's tied to. Drinking a potion costs a minor action. You can draw any number of potions which is required to perform that action, which happens to be one. Twin Strike costs a standard action. You...

Switching from bow to swords - how does it work?

This is how I always ruled it, and I believe could be supported (albeit with a bit of ambiguity) by RAW for Quick Draw. "You can draw a weapon as part of the same action used to attack with the weapon or use the object." Is "a weapon" equivalent to "one and only one weapon"? (I submit that it...

    Metagame Collusion

I would love this as a player. I'm not sure I'd call this "meta-gamey" as much as "cooperative set building."

    Greatbow Ranger and Sneak Attack

FYI, it's not as great as you might think. It's something in the neighborhood of +1-1.5 average damage over a dagger (including to-hit chance), and costs two more feats. The ranged thing counts for something I suppose.

Help me build an 11th level ranger (please)

Those ability scores make this exercise a whole new ball game. In that case, I'd recommend Archer->Battle Archer, but keep raising Strength and Dexterity to be competent at both melee and ranged. I think you've got a high enough Wisdom for archery riders without needing to raise it again.

    Elminster and Epic Level Fighters

Terms like "CR" and "EL" only have meaning for the player characters, and is not some sort of physical rule of the game world. NPCs level if/how/when the campaign/DM/plot decides. Also, there is no such thing "poorly built" NPC, unless they are meant for the PCs to fight, or to fight alongside...

Help me build an 11th level ranger (please)

I thought he just gave a helpful suggestion. He's not holding a gun to the OP making him play whatever, you know. The only thing it does is give the OP another angle to look at. Besides, melee ranger with a few ranged powers isn't all that fundamentally different from ranged ranger with a few...

    Class Compendium: The Warlord (Marshal)

The extreme amount of wasted space in the new format hurts my head. A lot. For instance, what is the need for every power to have two entries for flavor text? And the title twice?

I absolutely don't find this a problem. Moderators need the authority to point out bad behavior. Regular posters don't. They should just report.
