Meh, not impressed. Superior armors cost a feat, grant situational or negligible bonuses and add more fiddly bits to track. Maybe there'll be more feat support for them in the book, but from what I've seen, they don't look like something that would improve my game.

That's precisely the point, though. During a match, you're not just throwing punches: you're formulating a strategy, looking for an opening and throwing a jab when it's appropriate. Why aren't you just punching the other dude in the face over and over, since that first jab landed so easily...

Some random thoughts: IMHO, the at-will is a bit too good. Immobilize at will, and do it on an OA to boot? This makes the Iron Soul monk stickier than the fighter; I'd change it to something else, frankly... maybe just slow the target? Furthermore, for the most part you've increased the unarmed...

I suppose they're just trying to cut back the number of powers. There are like 8000 powers out there... finding a name for yet another "spend an healing surge" power must be getting difficult, and this way when they want to create a new leader class they can just slap "healing word" in there...

Uhm, aside from the fact that it's more a rumor than a leak, IIRC the rumor was about the property of WotC (including M:tG) reverting back to Adkinson if Hasbro ever gutted D&D. But, again... it's just a rumor, to the best of my knowlegde.

Why would I? 4e is still there even if WotC stops producing it. I've got my offline CB, my dead tree books and my group, why would I switch to something else? Even if I disliked some of WotC's business decisions, lately ( so much that I stopped being a regular DDI subscriber ), it's no reason...

Well, DR 5/- is a decent perk at most at level 20... it's not that good. Armor Training is nice, though, but, in the end, you're going to have the same AC against melee attacks with the defensive bonus. So who cares if it comes from Armor Training or Defensive Flurry? You can wear heavy armor...
