I prefer "Hang 'em High" for an example, but i agree and think it is a great PrC. FD

If I have any gripe about PrC size, then it is the belief there should be a set # for all or most PrC's- each PrC should be the right number of levels for that PrC. Everytime I see "free feat" in a PrC, I wince, just take that level out. FD

Re: Re: ugh.. wounded pride Ok- first you complain that the PrC's should be: "something special, rare, and cool." Now- you are complaining they overshadow the core classes? Are you still refusing to acknowledge that, within the rules, a PC can abuse PrC's, only if the DM allows it? Are...

I don't agree with the attitude, but I would not call it silly. A DM has a lot of work to do- and when a player wants to bring something new in that is tied to fluff (setting, group, whatever)- it means a handful of more work. Not just tearing down the existing fluff, but seeing how tightly the...

Can A Dm Improve His Players?

As I said in the other thread- it may be an issue of the wrong dm for the wrong players. Conversation is an amazing way to sort that out. Ask if he is having fun- if he is, then leave him alone. I'll give two specifics, let me know how the DM can make these players better: I give xp for...

Wishes & Perversions - Post Yours

Well, I only twist wishes if the pc is trying to be abusive about the wish. The one that comes to mind is something along: "I wish death on all those who have caused me harm." This pc had caused almost all the grief he suffered (by going adventuring in the first place, and being a jerk in the...

    All "Good" Players. Holy Grail?

I think there are different kinds of players and dm's- and it is hard to get entire group all wanting the same thing from the game. It then becomes a matter of finding out what all people in the group want in a game, and trying to find a compromise that will please everyone. A lot of that falls...

I suspect the more fluff they put on a PrC- the less dm's that will be interested. However- I can only recall examples from T&B and DoTF, but don't most of the WOTC splat books describe organizations. Many of those organizations tied to a PrC in that book. FD

ugh.. wounded pride But, you have yet to say what the rule problem is with PrC's. The only thing you have mentioned that might be a "rule" problem is "low requirements", but I don't see how that is a problem. If a player sees a PrC a dm approves of, then they are going to make sure they meet...

Ok, I can see the argument that WOTC has included a lot of them in their books, but why is that a problem? They have also added a lot of feats and new skill uses. The more options the better. I, as the DM, still have veto power over every new option. FD

None of those books are core rulebooks. There is nothing in them that demands to be used. That is not true. I can run 3E for the next ten years and never use a PrC. It would not be missed. It would not stop the game. FD

    Beyond good and evil

Yes, yes it does- in the long term. In the short term, CG may be "more good" then LG. *chuckle* I will agree with that as well. :) FD PS- the SG1 story is based off a short sci-fi story (the title/author won't come to me right now), but it got me in to a lot of trouble in Ethics. heh.

PrC's are a dm option according to the rules. That is why they were in the DMG, and not in the PH. FD

There is one giant requirement you seem to be skipping over- DM approval. If a dm just shrugs and allows any and every PrC, then that is the "problem" for them and their players. I don't have the problem imc. PrC's are rare- for pc's and npc's. I could care less if they meet the requirements...

Should clerics turn outsiders instead of undead?

You could just use their SR as TR. Many of the powerful demons have it, and it would probably give them the edge to make it fair. FD

Thoughts about the nature of evil

Demons and such are unable to reform in my campeigns. They are created from the divine essence of evil, and would be incapable of considering redemption. FD

    Summon: Heroic Adventurers

I would allow them to die- then that would take care of many of your concerns. It is an interesting idea- I would make the spell specific. The caster needs to summon precise people. Part of the casting cost could be part of the hero- so at one point the adventurers run into a travelling barber...
