Is there a skill-oriented paragon path?

I have seriously considered the Jack of All Trades PP for an Essentials Thief. The mechanics aren't a problem, and along with the Thief having 7 trained skills (8 with a multiclass feat), everything that even smells of "thief" can be covered -- Stealth, Thievery, Acrobatics, Athletics...

    Clerics Hurting to Heal

If you think you might ever get to epic level, check out the Saint Epic Destiny, especially the level 24 ability. All of those saves granted by the Sun Domain at-will suddently allow spending a healing surge if adjacent... I guess the main question is, can you use the attack at-wills without...

What changes/additions to multiclassing would you like to see?

Honestly? Let characters take Hybrid Talent twice. That's the only change needed.

...and my PCs are attacked most commonly when it isn't my turn. Some DMs are simply cruel beyond words.

All of my PCs so far have "done their job" best when they were conscious. Your mileage may vary.

DM having Epic difficulty, seeking other DM experience

The main group I play in is still just at mid-paragon, but I already see some of what you are talking about. I suggest you do what I have done as a player -- chomp up the good stuff in Essentials. Give one of your bosses the equivalent of Superior Will -- save against those Stunned and Dazed...

30 levels, without the epic tier

I have a completely off-the-wall idea for you -- Play the first 10 levels with a different game system. Then switch to 4e when they hit what you consider to be level 1. I don't have any suggestions on what system -- D&D has always been my game. But I'm sure there must be one that works well...

    Battlefield Archer quarry damage

The only build in all of 4e that I could see taking Defensive Mobility for would be a Halfling Artful Dodger Rogue who is gobbling up every anti-OA boost in order to make shifting a thing of the past. Oh wait -- I had one of those. An ultra-high AC against OA gave her the confidence to cross...

    Solo tactics

Could you tell us the level of the characters and what level your dragon is supposed to be? Regarding the cliff, I would be just as concerned about characters being knocked out of the action via separation as about the damage from the fall. Divide and conquer is a powerful tactic.

Online Character Builder - scroll wheel working!

Hmmmm... Doesn't seem to work for me, but then I am using a Dell mouse on a Mac, so it's probably my own fault for being peculiar.

Getting into the Points of Light mindset

I didn't say "random", and I don't remember the discussion being specifically about random encounters. But even random encounters, carefully chosen (i.e. no polar bears in the desert), would be better than nothing in many cases.

Getting into the Points of Light mindset

C: A sense of depth and texture. Without wilderness encounters, the wilderness feels like a sterile waste. I have played in campaigns like this -- where a thousand miles is crossed with no encounters -- and it leaves me feeling empty, like the world isn't real.

    Question about Melee Training

Melee Training works extra well if you have some way of substituting MBAs for RBAs -- for example with a Farslayer weapon.

    Heal check in combat

What does this mean? Does it include Bull Rush, Grab, Melee Basic Attack, Stealth checks and the like? If not, how is it different?

Speeding Up Combat #2 - Blame the Players!

This is a strong compliment, and I appreciate it. I didn't mean to call out any specific person, and certainly not you. What I'm really saying is, let's be humanistic about this. If a player's slowness irritates you and nothing seems to help them speed up, you really have two choices: accept...

I had forgotten about that ambiguity. Yeah, it's very good if it applies to your whole party.

Speeding Up Combat #2 - Blame the Players!

I realize that grind is a serious issue, and I respect efforts to deal with it, but I would rather have a combat drag on longer than necessary than have the DM poking me with a stick and yelling "faster faster" when i'm trying to think. If I [a hypothetical "I"] appear slow to decide, it...

Dear Wizards, I no longer have a clue what you're doing

Players... don't... buy... books.......... There's something in that statement that doesn't quite ring true -- if only I could put my finger on it... *crash* *bang* *ow* *damn I needed that ankle* (Sounds courtesy of me tripping over one of my piles of 4e books)
