Justice League: So, who's seen the Snyder Cut?

On the whole I liked the Whedon version better, but that was still a movie barely able to hold it's head above water. This just seems like a weird choice to even release.

What deserves some Call of Cthulhu love in 7th ed?

Definitely want a slipcase with an Arkham/Miskatonic Valley/Miskatonic University book set, with 2-3 large poster maps. Insert with some props or letterheads. A Boston sourcebook. It's the closest big city to Arkham. It should have some love, here, as well. Or include it as a large chapter in...

    So, Wandavision?

Maaaaybe? See, in the comics, Wanda could manipulate reality. One thing she did was give herself twins. This is probably just a call-out to that time, but atm who knows?

    So, Wandavision?

Hmm, despite all the 'for the children', we haven't see any children.

    Rewatching the Batman movies

Oh, yes. I've enjoyed almost all of the DC animated offerings - Young Justice is in my opinion the best depiction of DC properties I've ever seen, and that includes the comics. I'm also hoping we're past the point of shoe-horning Damian in everything,. as well.

    Allegory VS Interpretation

Sensitivity readers are there for a reason: the constant background hum of systemic racism and privilege. Most of us do not have a diversity of experience, even if we have long-term friends who are black, gay, trans, etc etc, but we think we do, which can lead to making some pretty awful gaffs...

    Rewatching the Batman movies

I have not liked a live-action Batman interpretation yet, save perhaps the 1966 film which exists apart from everything else due to the nostalgia factor :) The murdering-psychopath-Batman of the Nolan films is something best forgotten. About the only thing I could say good about them was the...

    Who's the best Superhero?

Nightwing. All of the Batman, none of the unhealthy obsessions and bitterness.

What are you reading this year 2020?

Lots of stuff since the last update. Mad Amos Malone is fantasy/old west, with a generous dollop of American Tall Tales thrown in for good measure. Amos is a mountain man, a relic even in the time he occupies, taller than most men and broader than most bears. He has a rep for dealing with the...

What are you reading this year 2020?

It's not a surprise that some of her older work does not hold up. An interesting thing to take a look at is the Andre Norton Reread which is going through all her books, great and small.

Gamerchanger by L.X. Beckett First there was the Setback. Then the Clawback. Rubi Whiting is a member of the Bounceback generation, the first free from the trials and troubles of the late 21st century. She works as a freelance solicitor (all work is freelance, contracted for short terms to...
