    The Drunken Master Prestige class

    1. yes, it does still take the -4, nothing there says otherwise. (well, I used to think it was a cool PrC :erm: ) 2. nope 3. Your example Large Scimitar will do the same damage as a dinner plate, a broken bottle, a sack of potatoes, or a fireplace poker. And will break, as written, when you...

[Bo9S] Notes on swordsage in play

well, Combat Expertise says so no strikes that aren't attack actions or full-attack actions, because pretty much all of them are standard actions or fullround actions that happen to involve an attack or several attacks as part of them. Power Attack just says : you can use it with anything that...

[Bo9S] Notes on swordsage in play

Looks like yes to Power Attack and no to Combat Expertise, by how it's worded. We've been using both with martial strikes.

    Dragonstar 4e

If Iron Heroes was out when Spelljammer came out, it would've been a much better place to play. ;)

    elves:flawed logic

Cats are real men's pets. They only eat meat and sleep 18 hours a day. ;) Oh, and staying on topic, elf druids turning into great cats are the only dogs/cats/whatever elves need.

    D&D+Firefly=DragonFly

Forget the Spelljammer setting, just use the ships and the updated 3.5ish rules. Never liked the setting much, but the idea rocked. They even have a Dragonfly class ship for you. ;) Add a few more guns and the Iron Heroes classes, and 4th edition would have nothing on it. :)

bah I say Firefly story, Spelljammer ships, Iron Heroes rules.

    Combat expertise + Power attack

I've used the 'all-or-nothing' of that combo before, but it was on a character that wasn't a caster, so no adding of the true strike/wraith strike/deep impact..

    Can awakened animals speak?

I built a Halfling Outrider with Leadership with an Awakened wolf Druid as a mount. The wolf was the Hunter variant from UA, so his AC was high, plus Spring Attack, the Halfling had Mounted Combat, Mounted Archery, etc. and the wolf actually had another wolf as an animal companion. The wolf...

What can protect PCs from Blasphemy with incredibly high CL?

Everyone plays Belkar. Seems like anytime a DM says 'no evil' or 'only good' it's always followed up with a cleric of slightly on the high end of the fair CR range using a Bead of Karma followed by Blasphemy. Yet another reason why I say Lawful Evil is the best alignment. :D We...

    Multiclassed spell casters.

Something I thought of when I looked at that: Where it says: I would say that levels in an arcane class count as 'C' to divine caster levels and levels in a divine class count as 'C' for arcane caster levels. Maybe 'B' for both. Why would a wizard/fighter know more about wizardry than a...

    Throw a grappled foe

Iron Heroes has lots of fun additions to the selection of actions you can do while grappling, including throwing an opponent, or picking them up and slamming them to the ground, twisting their limbs for an effect, just holding them up in the air, etc.

kind of embarassed to admit it, but...

Because they also said: That is why a rogue using UMD 'has that spell on their spell list' Then there is: So, the character needs to pretend he has all the prereqs to make it work. (unless he actually has all the prereqs already) 'Having a spell on your class list' mean just that, even if...

    Reinventing fantasy cliches

In my game, besides the Nazi elves, the nation of hobgoblins is the 300 of the setting. A demonic-corrupted squad of hobgoblins may one day cross paths with my party. Oh man, that's going to be a fun battle. ;) The drow they're encountering now in the jungles of Xen'drik, pretty...

    Reinventing fantasy cliches

I read Tolkien, and hated it. I read Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, pure awesome. Actually, pure Awesome, with the capital A. In my Iron Heroes game, the evil Nazi elves (of my reworked-for-IH Eberron) are based on the evil elves of that trilogy. My players were practically panicking...

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

Once someone decided to play an actual Healer (the class), the party stayed up and fighting.

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

Actually, I guess you'd call it a huge party. Had I think 7-8 players during the half-to-all-dead trend, and during an Age of Worms campaign, up to 9 players. In a party that size, a pimped-out Healer trumps a cleric in keeping the party up and fighting. Oh, and every character is built for...
