Well, there is simulated violence and language, yes, it's got simulated language. Obviously not suitable for a 7 year old.

I preordered the PHB already, as I mentioned one of my groups is switching to 4e to give it a try. However, it's a much lower investment than previous editions of D&D. Don't think of it as "D&D lost a player", so much as "D&D4 made a collector into a casual player".

I tried the prerelease, but it just didn't grab me. Nothing bad really, but other stuff to do. I know of a few folks that play and like it, but not I.

I haven't read the first two books, but this isn't a "trilogy" in the normal sense. Since it's just an "in between" series there is no need for a completion, so to speak. It's already completed.

Not really a valid comparison though. I'd turn the tv off long before watching most reality tv shows. I can find a lot more enjoyable things to waste time on then Heroes.
