    4e Ravenloft - Dragon 368

To be clear, I'm not criticizing Soth In Ravenloft, or the work done on him there. I had left the game before his novels came out, but overall liked all the RL stuff from when I read it. Do you mean "to move Soth to Ravenloft"? Definitely, and thanks for the post. What I mostly meant is that...

Anyone here getting Warhammer: Age of Reckoning?

I'm not big into PvP, and WAR seems to focus more on it. I've so far been unimpressed/ disappointed in the actual graphics I've seen. I like the idea of the area quests that are simply an open quest that anyone can complete objectives for, and have a shot at the prize. I also like the idea...

    4e Ravenloft - Dragon 368

This is where we get to the "Making Ravenloft 4e" vs "Inserting some Ravenloft into 4e". If you're going to conceptualize the Domains of Dread into a setting, it needs to maintain some distinctiveness from a traditional setting. If you're going to make a "horror" setting, then you have to avoid...

    4e Ravenloft - Dragon 368

I was not really "into" D&D at the time, but from what I recall it has nothing to do with SovPress, but with the authors. Ravenloft co-opted Soth, and when Weis/Hickman made another DL novel, they ignored Ravenloft entirely, keeping Soth always/forever in DL. TSR then came up with a RL excuse...

    4e Ravenloft - Dragon 368

Part of the fun of DMing Ravenloft was getting the group into RL in such a way that they didn't KNOW they were in Ravenloft for a while. You have to know your players of course, but "atmosphere" tended to go by adventure rather than by setting for me. As for Ravenloft's "human-centric" setting...

    4e Ravenloft - Dragon 368

In my original campaign, we had the Grand Conjunction occur and merged Ravenloft with the "real world". Rather than a demi-plane, the Mists imprisoned great evils in small domains/ sinkholes of evil. It worked fine for us.

    A WOW Guild

Even after all this time, the thread hadn't made the long walk back to it's corpse, so the priest was still able to pull it. Senjin myself actually, but generally avoid guilds as too much trouble.

    Xbox 360 price cut!

Sure, but the download is immediate gratification, so it's still an option. Just saying to keep the Originals in mind if there's a game you want and don't find it while shopping other peoples yards. :)

    [Bioshock] Explain something to me

I played through Bioshock with some ammo problems here or there, but overall not a big issue. I just meant if you want to experience the story, playing on Easy still gives you that. I had Silent Hill 2, but the combat was so atrocious I couldn't put up with it. I enjoyed the game enough that I...

    Xbox 360 price cut!

It's a model made specifically for India, yeah. XBox Originals are $15ish as downloads, so keep that in mind when shopping for discs. List of games that work: Xbox.com | Xbox 360 - Original Xbox Games on Xbox 360

    [Bioshock] Explain something to me

Well, once you realize the death penalty... isn't, you realize you can just keep dying and beat the Big Daddy down with a wrench. It takes a bit of the fun/challenge out, but if you just want to gack them, so be it. If you're having issues with supplies, just play on an easier setting, the...

    Xbox 360 price cut!

Compare to XBoxHD: 120g: $150 It's a "gouge", but it's not a huge deal, I think. (It does mean Arcade+120gig is cheaper than Elite though, amusingly enough.) Also, if you're figuring on getting one based on price, remember to include $20 for a play&charge kit. I think it's nice that the PS3...

    Xbox 360 price cut!

For the most part, yes. There's a long list of compatible games, but they're not really adding to it anymore. Also, some old games are available from Live via Download.

Games that didn't survive first contact. . .

I think there's a happy medium between the two points you paint though. Like the other poster, I wouldn't want an archer that couldn't shoot. Why would he become an archer? Now, a character with a bad leg that became an archer because of his inability to maneuver in combat, that's fine. An...

    Shadowrun Resources

I gave up on Shadowrun towards the end of 3rd edition, once FanPro took over the direction just went somewhere I didn't want. 4th edition made it even worse, so I never picked it up. Dumpshock was the ENWorld of Shadowrun, can't say how it is nowadays, probably the same clique's.

An open letter to Randy Buehler

I don't mean to say that everyone that doesn't like the new AP is anti-WotC or anti-4e, just saying that the fans of alternate companies tend to go a bit overboard in their opinions. Any "review" should be taken with a grain of salt of course, but when it starts with "WotC shoulda left Paizo to...

An open letter to Randy Buehler

My problem (In theory) with no overview is that with a year run, at some point during the AP, they will be going For Pay, I think. (AFAIK they didn't announce yet when, but they've established a price, so it's gotta be on the way.)

An open letter to Randy Buehler

I think you must be on a different internet than me. :) 4e haters will read them and post about them authoritatively, they just need to be bored and irritated enough to do it. But, I think the real "bias" you need to look for is anti-WotC bias. "This adventure sucks, DCC is much better."...

    Xbox 360 price cut!

I was thinking in terms of % of 360 sales, but yeah I can see that it probably sold well as a HDDVD player. I think they'll bump up the Elite, especially with the "install to HD" option incoming.
