    Players that don't keep track

Be careful not to come across as too distrusting. Rather than "I don't believe you're doing this properly" make it "let's get a little more detail here" I've got my players doing it for the story hour I'm hoping to put up soon. Along those lines I get players to keep "quotable quotes" and...

Archer types watch out for Relics&Rituals II

This is correct. Also someone (I think the author of the spell) mentions that it's meant to be like Shocking Grasp, but for an arrow - hence the "til discharged". So you might want to think about that too. Duncan

    Players that don't keep track

I've recently started a new campaign, and I've had one of my players keep a battle summary for me - listing the combatees in init order, and a brief description of what they did. This has been useful in keeping track of HPs, and can be used to count arrows fired, etc. It obviously doesn't...

    List of Forbidden Names?

But if someone other than the owners of this IP did create such a list wouldn't they be violating the IP? :-) Perhaps what we would like is each publisher to create a list of what is their IP. Duncan

The first round of combat [Ready actions]

Well, according to the DMG, every NPC Rogue has Imp. Init at 1st level, while every NPC Fighter takes it at second level, and a Rogue always has a better Init than a fighter. So the EBG should hire Rogues for his archers :-) Duncan

Beat Hong with a stick! (Was: not the right forum, but has anyone seen Angelsboi?)

Re: NO! No beating Hong with a stick! I think if you check Hong's monster description he has the special quality of "Thick Skinned" - which means that he gets DR 20/+4. So the whacks aren't likely to even be noticed by him. *whack* Duncan :)

    (MM2) WotC violates the OGL...

Re: Re: Re: (MM2) WotC violates the OGL... Interesting - I hadn't thought of this. Also I dread to think of what the S15s may look like in a few years time. Duncan

DM Tips for Death in Freeport

That's in the second module - Terror in Freeport. I didn't mind that the sewers were vaguely described with little happening there, because time was a critical element at that point in the scenario (and to me too - I had to finish running the module in a very short time before I went away for...

    (MM2) WotC violates the OGL...

Clark stated in other threads that he came to a private arrangement with WotC to use two of his creates from CC. This was not done under the OGL. Duncan

    What! Limper has a gripe?

Most sports players that do play play for free. Most sportmen/women are AMATUERS. Those that get paid are PROFESSIONALS. Limpers, as far as we have been told in this thread, is not a PROFESSIONAL roleplayer. Duncan

Psychic Warrior in Scarred Lands? Ideas?

IIRC there will be a "classbook" for psionics, if the others sell well enough. See if you can find the info about the books on the www.Swordsorcery.com Scarred Land's forum. As for whether they want contributions, I've no idea :-) Duncan

    What! Limper has a gripe?

So would this player having less Xp make any difference? If he's not doing anything in game then hopefully he's not interfering either. Does it reduce your enjoyment because he's there? I think this bothers you far more than it should. If he means nothing to the game, ignore him - pretend...

Psychic Warrior in Scarred Lands? Ideas?

Hi, This is some great info posted here about Psionics in the Scarred Land, and we've heard from some of the most knowledgable people on the subject. I would like to point out a couple of things: Psychic Warriors aren't that strong psionically. Many of their abilities are things for buffing...

    What! Limper has a gripe?

I suspect you are referring to any Chaosium game here - perhaps Runequest. In that system if you made a successful roll for a skill in a difficult situation you got an experience check. At a suitable time (I think it's normally a week later, but generally at the end of the scenario) you got...

DM Tips for Death in Freeport

Heheh - thanks - I'll have to tell my PCs that - they'll get a good laugh out of it. BTW, in my game when the Captain was eating his stew he would eat the meat off the head, then spit it out. When the PCs tried to talk to him, he started spitting the heads out at them. The dwarf in the party...

DM Tips for Death in Freeport

My group didn't. Tgood players, and realised I could introduce Orcs in the game without them being a target (at least not yet). Also one of the PCs was a half orc, so he talked to them. I also believe that Captain Scarbelly is far, far too low level. He's supposed to be a prominent pirate...

DM Tips for Death in Freeport

The adventure went very well for me and my group, but I have some very good players. I did find myself having to make up a lot on the fly - details about the city, what the streets and shops looked like, etc. I have since purchased the hardback Freeport book, which could've been very useful...

    Sealed Pages in Dragon--Contents inside!

I knew this. Also I just heard an interesting report on the radio, where they are investigating the use of dogs to "sniff" cancer. Apparently a doctor had heard several reports of dogs acting strange around their owners who where then soon diagnosed with cancer. The story said that one man...

Beat Hong with a stick! (Was: not the right forum, but has anyone seen Angelsboi?)

No, his spelling was correct - it's your interpretation that's wrong - Looser - more loose, easier to move...Not Loser - as in one who loses. :-) Duncan
