Most Unexpected Moments In Your Campaign

Well, if loved ones are often endangered in a campaign, hooking up with a cold-blooded killer sounds like an investment. ;)

    Trolls!

From the DDI compendium, searching for "fire OR acid" and filtering for at-wills: Flame Seed (Druid, fire) Acid Orb (Sorcerer, acid) Burning Spray (Sorcerer, fire) Greenflame Blade (Swordmage, fire) Hellish Rebuke (Warlock, fire) Scorching Burst (Wizard, fire)

4th ed's adventure layout: best thing it has brought to D&D?

Having the encounters on dedicated pages is okay, but shoving all of them to the end of the document is pretty bad for a PDF. I can't stick my thumb in the "encounter chapter" of a PDF, so it becomes a matter of reading the main adventure text and then having to remember the approximate page the...

    MM2 Excerpt: Adamantine Dragon

Wizards Presents: Worlds and Monsters, right? I'm not sure why, but I assumed that was an Iron Dragon. Maybe because it looks kind of brutish and the irons were described as the "stupid" metallic dragon. The tail certainly implies that it's the same as in the Adamantine excerpt, though. Not a...

    Excerpts: Archlich

That archlich illustration dives straight into the Uncanny Valley and doesn't look back! Edit: And that's good.

    Adventure Design

You know, when you think about it, having to murder more than 8-9 groups of dudes to clear a keep or something is pretty nuts, unless you're actually invading a major city or something*. (Silly way of saying: "It seems to work for you, so rock on." But yeah, the official ones stretch it out to...

Playing a 4e/PHBII Shaman? Let's hear about it

My current 3.0 character is a Druid, focused on healing and summoning (not high enough level for wildshape). I'll probably convert him to a Shaman when we convert to 4E, so I'm watching this thread. /Who watches the Hellzon?

What would they be in D&D?

Hokay. Disclaimer: What I know is 3.0 and 4E, so I'll mostly use that. 3.0: Fighter/Ranger, 10:ish level, 6 or 7 in Ranger for some ranks in Nature and Heal (and some 1:st level spells eventually). Max out Diplomacy. 4E: Warlord, inspiring build (but didn't skimp on the Int either). Paragon...

PHB2 Races = Mos Eisley Cantina

The Shifter on that fabled picture that spawned the thread looks more like an Ewok. My only beef with it. (And we know WOTC can draw non-ewok Shifters. There are perfectly good ones in the MM and in the PHB2 Shifter entry.)

Art: Bloodfury Savage: Since when do half-orcs shave their pits.

I just read that monotreme factoid as a big middle finger to the people who ran 10-page flamewars about how breasts on sapient bipeds were "cheesy" and "childish". And it was well deserved if I'm right.

    Assassins in PHB3

I've always thought a 4/4 scheme is the most likely for the PHB3, but you know, a 3/3/3 scheme that fills out three sources isn't impossible either.

    Why the World Exists

Well, it's an interesting start of a campaign at least. (But yes, give Frodo Stormbringer, taking it away from Elric, and you have two vastly different concepts indeed.)
