We actually had a nice tabletop turnout at Anime Central, as well. There was a great panel discussion with August Hahn, the Warhammer guys showed up with a nifty set-up and everything.

Have you looked at Fudge or its derivatives like Fate? They're almost diceless, and incredibly flexible and rules light.
