First Impressions of The Tomb of Abysthor

My first impressions of The Tomb of Abysthor are very good. This looks like one NASTY old-school dungeon to sic on your mid-level PCs. And with 6+ levels to explore, they should be busy for quite awhile. On top of that, $11.99 for a 96-page adventure ain't bad at all. The only downsides I...

    My First Review!

Thanks for the quality feedback Psion! I will definitely keep your suggestions in mind for future reviews. I actually thought about giving Geanavue a rating of 4, but I really thought it was better than that and the current system doesn't allow for ratings of say 4.25. Cheers,

    My First Review!

Ok, I just posted my first review in the database. I picked Geanavue: The Stones of Peace because it is new and I really enjoyed reading it. I plan to post more reviews and so I wanted some feedback from you about this first one. Was the review useful to you? Did it provide you with enough...

    Biased Reviews- Part 2

I thought that I would throw in the fact that I am a semi-prolific reviewer and I have just started to receive Kalamar products for Kenzer and Company for review. I haven't gotten ANY pressure from them for positive reviews and if I did, I wouldn't review for them anymore. I also have been...

    "Bad" and "Good" RPGs

Top Secret I was quite fond of TOP SECRET myself and it was one of the few games my early group played besides AD&D and CHAMPIONS. I wonder, does anyone know what Mr. Rasmussen (sp) is up to these days?

At least Kenzer can get it right.

Geanavue Art While I didn't like EVERY piece of interior art in Geanavue, I certainly didn't think it 'sucked'. On top of that, the book (and especially the map) are very attractive and well-produced. I would suggest that anyone looking for a mid-sized city for their campaign check it out.

    Dave Arneson and D&D

Gygax Quote about Tolkien and D&D Following is a quote directly from The Sorcerer's Scroll in Issue #13 of Dragon magazine in which Mr. Gygax commments on the Tolkien's influence on D&D: Cheers, Anthony R.

Why are ther no d20 Urban Sourcebooks or Adventures?!!!!

Geanavue Indeed, it is VERY good. It was written by Ed Greenwood and should be generic enough to slide into most campaigns. I should have a review of it submitted to EN World by the end of next week. Check it out if you get a chance.

    Dave Arneson and D&D

I believe that Dave's main claim to fame is that he basically originated the idea of the "dungeon adventure" (check out Gygax's introduction to Blackmoor for verification of this). He also came up with lots of other ideas that became incorporated into the game. Gygax took Dave's ideas, as well...

    Wizards of the Coast LAYOFFS

One thing no one has mentioned so far... ...is the fact that REAL people are losing their jobs here. Let's remember that and keep them in our prayers. I'm sure that many of the employees being laid off have mortgages to pay, wives and kids to feed - just like you and me. How would you feel...

An Apology Ok, here goes. If anyone (especially you Wolfspider) was offended by my post on RPG.net, you have my sincerest apologies. I certainly didn't mean to come across as being smug or superior nor was the post meant to put anyone down. I am no better than anyone on these boards or on...
