Sounds to me like you guys are using Charms like Dominations. If you are Charmed, your party should not be in an any immeditate danger. A "friend" cannot make you attack your real friends...only not attack HIM. IMHO.

Ok, good. But that's not what I got from the rules you posted. They seem to imply clerics who are given the new spell in written form can prepare and cast it on their own from that point on. Which is just silly, IMHO.
