I loved the condition track from SWSE. I really wish it was mainlined.

The new monsters are what I am most worried about.

D&D General Baldur's Gate 3 Hates Religion (Spoilers)

The subtext the game is that you don't want to make the obvious sacrifice. Either with turning yourself into a mindflayer, gale detonating his nuke, letting one of the would-be gods ascend to solve your problem for you, or to paraphrase Orpheus himself: "You should have just woke me up and let...

D&D General Baldur's Gate 3 Hates Religion (Spoilers)

Does BG3 hate religion? Or does it hate gods? I think the answer to both is that it doesn't hold either as sacred or absolute.

    D&D General The longer I play Baldur's Gate 3 ...

Unfortunately, a few of ideas from the game snuck into UA playtests before the game was finalized, only to be rejected. Which no doubt tainted the idea of mining BG3 for content.

    Just saw Delicious in Dungeon

This show/manga is an excellent example of why people actually like verisimilitude.

Unfortunately, the BG3 tie in product was Decent into Avernus.

D&D 5E (2014) A Campaign "Houserule" Idea - Armor Proficiency is based on the armor "donner" not wearer.

Well, you could also disable spellcasting by having someone non-proficient suit up a prisoner. Imagine the iconic squire helping out their Paladin, only to find out the Paladin can't use spells because the squire is still untrained in heavy armor.

[5e] Dread Metrol, The Mourning After. (Horror) (OOC)

Yeah, I think stopping is for the best. Unfortunately, I broke my arm, and it will be weeks before I can try to type normally. Which is really eating into my ability to set up posts. Maybe I will try something new when I can use both hands again.

D&D 5E (2024) Survey is Live for Unearthed Arcana PHB Playtest 8

No, the bonus healing is actually wasted, because even these buffed healing spells don't outpace Monster damage. This isn't problem of language, it's a problem of math.

D&D 5E (2024) Survey is Live for Unearthed Arcana PHB Playtest 8

They got your point, they are arguing your logic is backwards: The solution to your problem is carrot, not stick. If you want people to heal in the middle of combat, healing spells need to do way more healing (like 3x as much as they currently do), not less. Monsters already do way more damage...

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest 8 Spell Discussion

Its more fundamental than that. One side is arguing that a Verbal component can be done in a way that is virtually imperceptible, which defeats the purpose of using components to trace spells back to their origin. It has far greater reach than just Counterspelling, it also effects mundane...

    The Mourning After (Horror) (IC)

"The criminals of Sharn are dead. Just like the rest of the world. The entire outside world, just another one of Her Majesty's lies." Callia responds, and for the first time, you can sense emotion, a long burning anger, behind her cool demeanor. "All of our sentiment, our families, our very...

D&D 5E (2024) Weapon masteries should really be linked to weapon properties, not to specific weapons!

I thought about it for a moment, then realized doing so would eliminate having less damaging or otherwise worse weapons with superior effects kind of balance, which is a choice martials should have.

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest 8 Spell Discussion

No, thankfully that's an optional rule. That rule is so poorly written that it's borderline useless. It doesn't take into account the fact you can't even say "Look out, they are casting Fireball!" when it isn't your turn, so your party can use their reactions accordingly.

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest 8 Spell Discussion

Right, So: Spell components are used for the purposes of tracing spells back to their caster, and determining what can be Counterspelled; If there are no components to the spell, or if you cannot perceive the components, you cannot Counterspell. And indeed you cannot trace a spell back to it's...
