I've been ordered by the Computer to report for a promotion to RED level tonight. Praise the infinity wisdom of the Computer! (Never played this game before. One of our players is the GM tonight and he chose PARANOIA XP, 2004 edition).

Barbarians of Lumeria has just the right amount of definition for me. Detailed characters by the clever use of stacking professions, cultural differences and city of origine boons. Can you do a 15 session campaign with it? I don't know. We just do one-shots with it.

Indeed. RPGs is probably one of the most inexpensive forms of group entertainment. Some old gamers didn't buy anything after the Basic and Expert set boxes. Not good for the industry tho. That is why we are seing a 'boardification' of some RPGs with icon dice, cards and other stuff.

Finished book two of the Belgariad by Eddings. A few plot twists are weird. Seems like Eddings wanted them to happen and couldn't be bothered to explain how or why they happened. Starting book 3.

Excalibur holds up very well. It changed the way I wanted to play D&D. More realism, less high fantasy.
