Well it was mostly just the "its changed, thats how it is" explanation from 3 to 3.5 and the fact the next level it gets, (assuming I keep playing it) basically buys off the additional +1 ECL from 3-4. It did have wings in 3.0, I was just using the template out of the back of the Monster Manual...

Anyone got any good ideas for converting my 3.0 HC over to 3.5? The +1 to the ECL and some big changes kinda made it really hard for my HC cleric its sort of in limbo as to if I will keep playing it. :(

Yep, yep, yep... comming from someone who painfully transferred their 2E ftr/wiz into 3E and spent months being a frigging gimp and then. Now sort of fumbling around in 3.5 trying not to look too clueless and pretend not to cry everytime some monster goes "meh!" as spells rebound off its hide...

Most D&D characters Ive got dont swear much as in-character, though I do have a dark elf who will curse people out and make devils blush... then nuke them, (its all about making them feel small and impotent) then the chained and empowered disintergrate comes off. Otherwise its not heroic...

Do what everyone else who plays a class with bugger all skill points does, stick some stats in intelligence. If your going to give 2 extra skill points to a class that spends most of its days contemplating how pretty he/she is and picking up at the local, then you might want to give everyone...

Mores the question though, why would a character in a medievil fantasy setting actually know what is in their stomach? Theres a few character types I might let get away with it, a specialist necromancer, maybe a wizard or sorc with know-alchemy and maybe a cleric with a high level of heal...
