    FLGS in Zurich, Switzerland?

I'm going to be be in Zurich and was wondering if there were any RPG stores there or any comic/bookstores that sell RPG stuff in town? If so, what are they called, where are they and what are their URLs? Thanks, Zander von Zurich

Things to do in London when you're dead

Sidekick, If you're at all interested in arms & armour, you should definitely go to the Wallace Collection. They have one of the best collections of its kind in the world. What's more, it's free. It's located two blocks north of Oxford Street, behind Selfridges. I second (or is that third?)...

Are you playing D&D if there are no dice?

Does a game have to have randomness? When kids are involved in 'Let's Pretend', are they not playing a game? Are they simply playing a part (or role) but not a game? I don't mean to be provocative; I'm genuinely curious what you and others think about this.

Oh dear.... not another one/knife-wielding lingerie theft case

Hello, S! ;) Claiming that you assaulted Sarah the 'hobbit' barmaid for denying you too many lagers because you believed yourself to be your dwarf PC ain't gonna work. :D Seriously though, as noted above, I'm glad he lost the case.

Help!? - Seeking Advice on Owning/Operating Shop

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Comics & Games Retailer magazine. This is essential reading for anyone in the trade. It includes articles on what successful comic & game retailers have done with profiles of their stores, surveys and statistics of the best-selling products, and supplier lists...

Oh dear.... not another one/knife-wielding lingerie theft case

I'm not sure he is a LARPer. I think he's a table-top RPGer who dillusionally believes himself to be his PC (at least that's what he is claiming as his defence). I hope he loses the case as this will exonerate RPGs. If he wins, the media will jump at the chance to blame RPGs, conveniently...

Oh dear.... not another one/knife-wielding lingerie theft case

...and you will get a vitual slap for making any kind of joke about "knife-wielding lingerie".

    WotC biffs some D&D history

The article on WotC's site is incorrect in stating that there are no d9s. They're rare but they do exist: Kevin Cook's guide to dice shapes.

Shoot - my mother just got diagnosed with lung cancer...

TJ, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's illness. It sounds from what you say that they caught it early on in which case all should be fine. There aren't many cancers that, if diagnosed early enough, can't be treated. I know several people including my parents who have had cancer and are...

The Elfish Gene - Another attack on gamers

As the OPer, I'm glad to hear that you're changing the blurb and that your book isn't an attck on gamers. :) Once a gamer, always a gamer. You may have forgotten how much fun it can be. You should take it up again. If you're in London, check out the London D&D Meetup. We game every Saturday...

Whats the biggest group you've DMed for?

I was in that game! :) You did a great job, the moreso considering the numbers involved. I think it was a lot higher than 17 BTW. Between goes, I had enough time to leave the con, go to the pizzeria across the street, order a pizza, bring it back, eat it - and still have time to spare. :D

Charles Ryan on BBC Radio Newcastle?

Hello, Charles, Any chance you could wangle radio interviews about D&D/RPGs? They'd be good for the hobby and for Esdevium, not to mention entertaining. If so, could you please post a message on the main board letting us know the station(s) and the date(s)/time(s)? ;) Zander

    Nightfall's Not so Incredible Journey

Nightfall, Glad you're OK. Don't worry about the car or the stuff: All that can be replaced. It's the body parts that you can't get spares of that you should worry about. If they're OK, you're good to go. ;)

    Toys for use as minis

I customise Legos to create fantasy figures and monsters. Pics of some of my latest ones can be found in this thread. I collect other fantasy toys too including many mentioned in this thread: McFarlane dragons, MegaBloks dragons, the Yu-gi-o fishman, Schleich dragon and Papo toys. The Papo orc...

    Do magic missiles glow?

I agree and, as Plane Sailing points out, so does the DMG. :) The film/TV depiction I like best of a magic missile-like spell is the one from the made-for-TV movie Merlin starring Sam Neal (sp?) and Miranda Richardson. Richardson's character casts a spell in which her fingers extend to form...

Sorry, BOZ. I don't know what Robot Chicken is. I'm guessing it's a telly series or comic strip but you'll need to enlighten me. :o

More fantasy Lego and Stikfas goodness

Thanks! ;) I have to admit that I'm quite pleased with that one. It was inspired by the Marvel super hero Wolverine. For the most part, I don't try various combinations of body parts and weapons/armour searching for something that looks right. I start with a concept and work towards it often...
