I said yes but it would need to also be very easy to include 3rd party stuff and tweak things for house rules and the like. It would need to be very user friendly to allow that. Do that and support for older editions and I would be interested in it.

Ok I didn't read this whole thread. To the OP I would suggest trying a few games and finding the one that comes closest to doing what you want. Odds are high you will never find the perfect RPG, you sound like me. A tinker someone that loves to tinker with the rules and adjust them to do things...

Last I read from Nick from what he has said. My guess is it is past layout and waiting on the final 2 maps and then headed to final edit and then finally to print. That seems to be where it is current based on recent comments by Nick.

I agree with Windjammer here that a few single line reference to the type of monster and page number of the MM book of the system would likely be best.

They haven't said what all they will make in this regard. All they have said is they plan to make 3-4 rulebooks a year with at least one of them being a monster book. Beyond that anyones guess is as good as anyone elses.
