This is reminding me a bit of the run up to 4E release. I am liking some of what I am hearing and disliking some of what I am hearing. So all and all interested to learn more but mostly meh about it. Though the PR has been TONS better so far for this edition. :)

Pretty much agree with this, The last part could be represented by the trait system in PFRPG if it was expanded. Give everyone x number of traits but restrict some traits by race. So people that want to play that took them but the ones that wanted the dwarf raised by circus folk would not take...

My book shelf is roughly that sized stuffed with RPG stuff. I also have 2 boxes in the closet full of RPG's. I have 3 times went threw it and sold off stuff that i never used anymore. No boardgames I have no where near even remotely close to that.

Technically it would take exactly 3 wrongs to make a right. Just like it takes 3 left hand turns to be heading the same way as a right hand turn... if you made more wrong you would be facing another direction again. :)

When 5e comes out, I am really curious what they are going to do with the DDI and the 4e stuff. Will they leave it up or will it go away like the PDF's of the older games when 4e came out. For me how they handle that will tell me a lot about them as a company going forward. I hope they leave it...

Right now I am running a Pathfinder game.

Dreamscarred Press did a pretty good Pathfinder set of Psionic rules. I am not a big fan myself but the book was the best done rules I have seen yet to included them in fantasy.

I haven't run it myself. How long it takes I think will depend a lot on how experienced the players are with RPG's in general and how many players you end up having. If I had to guess I would say 4-6 hours likely closer to the first number but that's only a guess.

To be fair I was talking way in the future. I think once computers get to a certain point it will happen. I doubt I will still be alive then though. :)
