    Players from Hell.

Hey Teflon Billy- What did your friend do once he heard about the scenario (ie., the friend that 'referred' rape boy)? I mean, he still had to work with the freak, right? Talk about uncomfortable and embarrassing.

D&D 3.x [3.5] CRs still out of whack?

Uh...how many people were in your party? Did they not have 1 fire spell? Was the party fresh from rest or had they been hammered by previous encounters? We need more information here, as an APL 6 party should have NO problem with a large water elemental.

    [3.0]compare these two clerics (power-wise)

I for one would vote for the dwarven cleric of kord. Now that archers can only use the 'best of' their equipment instead of combining the bonuses (ie., a +3 bow and a +2 arrow is no longer a cum of +5. It stays at +3), and clerics still have uber-buffs, I would go with him. Furthermore I would...

    [3.0]compare these two clerics (power-wise)

Can you give us a list of their respective domains (and domains you may be taking)? Domain choice can really effect the power level of a cleric - trust me, I specialize in this class.

Is this an evil act, or not?

    not evil. not even close.

    Is 3.5 backward compatible?

This was my response to your thread question: Pffffffffffffffffffffff!

Do you think a character should be resurected or changed when it dies ?

Our group just follows the rules as presented in the books. If the party has enough time, money and can find someone to True Res., we do it. If a player really wants to keep that PC, we find a way to get him back. If a player hated the way that PC was developing, off he rolls. Obviously we let...

    Cheating Death

I don't think the scenario is mean per se.....I just have a problem with your preparing a curse for the paladin when he hasn't even done anything wrong yet. What if he sacrifices an evil person, or a cat, or even goes back to the tavern and finds someone willing to give up their own life? I...

    Strangest Rule Lawyering

Re: Cleave Your example is abundantly flawed. It's pretty clear, if no one drops/dies, you get no cleave. Your example might be interesting if the fighter hit the orc warrior for 10 damage and the shaman standing 40 ft. away dropped because he had less than 5 HP (and took damage from the...

Should commoners (and everyone else) be a bit more durable?

I was thinking about this recently... Say a 9th level evil cleric walks into a bar. For entertainment he casts "mass inflict light wounds" and within 6 seconds, any 9 commoners within 30 ft. that don't roll a natural 20 on their save are most likely DEAD (1d8+5 damage). Now, what if EVERYONE...

What is a Rogue to do in an undead-heavy campaign?

I haven't read through all the responses BUT a rogue could always defer to that "Use Magic Device" skill they have. A rogue with a high UMD skill could theoretically read a "Disrupting weapon" scroll and go to town.....couldn't they?

    Strangest Rule Lawyering

That would have been my response too, mmu1. And after that session, I would have called the DM on it and seriously considered whether or not I returned. That's just ridiculous.

    "Wha Happen?"

I think the huge number of errata is pathetic! Take a widely used spell like dispel magic - there is a GLARING error in the area of effect! Somebody needs to be fired.

[3.0] Need help creating a fighter of undead

I'm no expert of the undead, but the juju zombie is actually pretty powerful from what I recall. I think it's a d12 creature and in order to become one you have to be a "blightspawn" first....which between the two you have a cumulative +8 to STR. I think. Just check it out - yes, the name sounds...

One Annoyed God + One Stuborn Player

Eaaaaaa. This situation only necessitates a "we need to talk" DM-player chat if this is his 4th PC that has had 'authority issues'. Furthermore, what is his class & alignment? Any non-lawful character (even good) could easily have authority issues. I believe you when you say "it's the player...

    Fighter/Wizard a good choice now! [3.5]

Chalky-chalk-chalk.... Anyway, I think it's good "for those kinds of people" that want to play a wiz/fighter. And by "those kinds of people" I'm referring to "those kinds of people" that also like to play the "weird classes" like druids and monks.....ie., those that can do cool things in very...

    Powergamers Unite! Elf Cleric Archer

True Strike + Greater Slaying Arrow = Dead Things. Unfortunately you can't create a slaying arrow (it requires the finger of death spell), but your mage can! Hopefully you can convince your mage to take the craft magic arms/armor feat and he will realize the money he can make for himself by...

Facing in 3E, 3.5E and other

I voted for 'strict' as I think it would be cool. I don't have an entire strategy outlined for this idea, I just think that someone with sense and innovation could come up with a system that allows strict facing (and turning options). I guess maybe we'll just have to wait until next year when...
