What book is it described in? Thanks

Covers for the Magic Item Compendium and Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave

...as well as Expedition to the Demon Web Pits. Someone else probably already posted these already and I missed it but just in case here they are:

    Help me identify this sword.

Yes, thank you. On the WotC message boards someone pointed me to Races of Faerun and Silver Marches. I'll check them both when I get home.

    Who rules the githzerai?

A bit off topic but does it annoy anyone else that the Githyanki have a -2 Wisdom modifier? Shouldn't it be -2 Intelligence? I ask because I always pictured them as better psychic warriors than psions but maybe that's just me.

What do/don't you like about mecha

Yet another reason why I love Heavy Gear. The game is written so that Gears are not the kings of the battlefield. In fact, a battle between Gears and Tanks will end very badly for the gears. It's actually barely a contest. The Gears have some nice mobility bonuses but tanks will always take the...

    Help me identify this sword.

That's it!! I spent part of last night looking through Magic of Faerun as well as the Players Guide to Faerun and couldn't find it. I think it might appear in the FRCS but I didn't have time to check. To be honest I think it a bit strange that this ability has not been added to the list of...

What do/don't you like about mecha

My experience is limited to Heavy Gear using the Silhouette system so the following may not be of much use to you. Likes: -It's very tactical. It's almost like a chess game. The speed you move your Gear (read: mech) is just as important as the weapon you use. Many factors affect play and as a...

    Help me identify this sword.

I read about it in the Rage of Dragons trilogy. It's a short sword that acts as a long sword but is considered light and damages like a long sword. I think it's called longfang or something like that. Does this weapon appear in any rulebook? If so which one? Thanks.

Not a Poll! Who are your favourite D&D villians?

Githyanki in general and the lich queen specifically. I also like Artemis Entreri although I haven't actually read that much about him. Valas Hune is perhaps not a villan but he's hardly a nice guy. First appeared in the War of the Spider Queen series and is described as a male drow Rogue 10...

    Good Military/Hard Sci-Fi RPG?

They each have their own settings so there is no real reason to mix them although you could I suppose. Keep in mind that HG is much more of a planet based game than JC which is more of a space based game. What's interesting to note is that even though JC tech seems more advanced the setting...

    Good Military/Hard Sci-Fi RPG?

Keep in mind that WotC is releasing SW Starship Battles in November. It's a miniatures game but I beleive it will tie in nicely with the next edition of the Star Wars RPG. From what I hear it's collectable but will only have one set (about 60 different miniatures) with no future expansions...

    Sweet Cover Art?

It’s impossible for me to pick a favorite. I've been known to buy RPG books just for the art (Rackham's Ragnarok is a good example). But rather than wax philosophical about it let me just post a couple that other's might not have thought of or even seen. Cover to Ashen Knight from Dark Ages...

I can't subscribe to the podcast thru iTunes. Am I the only one? Edit: Never mind. My mistake.

    Anyone got Dungeon 139 yet?

Anyone check out the Savage Tides Players Guide Paizo is offering on their website? I'm waiting for the pdf myself since I can't justify the $5.00 shipping fee. Also, the last issue of Dungeon (#138) had a good summary of the entire STAP. I saw mention of Orcus once but I thought the focus was...

Go Play (Secret Gamer Code Shhhhhh)

I love this idea. As a closet gamer it's language I can relate to. One quetion (and I'll probably ask this on rpg.net as well) how do you personalize the symbol? Is it ok to use someone elses symbol. I assume the answer is no (what's the point of personalizing it if everyone is using it). I...

    [Dragon] Never got issue 346.

Paizo has a customer service message board. If I ever fail to receive one of my issues I just post a note there. Usually I get an email fairly quickly telling me that they've mailed a replacement copy. Make sure you link your web site registration to your magazine subscriptions. It makes...

Deluxe Gaming Products - Lessons from Ptolus

And let's not forget the 208 page Five Fingers: Port of Deceit for $35. That's 1,008 pages for $115. And the one thing the Iron Kingdoms has that Ptolus is, IMO, seriously defficient in is a style all it's own. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to own Ptolus but it is surprisingly generic and, dare...

Remind me again why I should like the PHB II?

I say "like" because I already own it. That said I spent an hour paging through it yesterday and didn't really find that much to be impressed about. Yes, it has four new core classes, but are they any good? The sheer abundance of classes (and feats, and spells, and magic items) has greatly...

    Favorite (best?) sci-fi d20 rules?

Which rules do you use or would you use and why? I see d20 sci-fi rules as the holy grail of gaming and have yet to find any that could accurately depict Transhuman Space but with D20 rules. What would you use?

D20 Modern vs. Spycraft: Tell me which one you like better

I'm very late to this thread and I can't really add much more to what's been said other than to say that I completely and 100% agree with Morgenstern and Psion. I can't wait to see Farthest Star and Shatterpunk. One question, I have the first printing of SC 2.0. Is the second printing worth...
