    Worst 3.5 Change

This question applies to most of the things on the 'worst' list above. I truly think WotC changed a lot of things just to change things - not to make them better. I voted for the Spell Focus change. In my last session my cleric, with a WIS 16 and Spell Focus: Enchantment (3.0) must have cast 5...

People Who think Bugbears are Kinda Cute Anonymous...

I've always thought bugbears sounded cute, with their morningstars and all. Kinda like big teddy bears. Awwwww.

Does the DnD economy need to go through a period of deflation?

There were also four ogres in the encounter. Failed to mention that.

Will anyone play test 3.5 "as is"?

Nope, we have already decided to keep Spell Focus at +2 (and throw GSF out the window). W00t!

Does the DnD economy need to go through a period of deflation?

In my last session our group killed a hill giant that was carrying around 2,000 gold pieces and 29,000 silver pieces. Granted, DnD is built around the use of imagination, but can you imagine anyone walking around with a sack of 29,000 quarters?! Not to mention WE then had to carry it around...

Storing Cast Spells & Bestow Curse

So according to the PHB a spellcaster that casts a touch spell can store the spell and use it at a later time. So, for instance, my cleric can cast Bestow curse and touch an enemy three rounds later and the spell will still trigger properly (assuming they don't make their save).... Question...

Raise Dead now costs 5000 GP!

I love it when my posts are broken down into bite-size chewable pieces. Really, I do. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Nevertheless, TSYR, your point has been made. DMs can rule either way - ie., no resurrection as in your case or running a game where raise dead is "free!" and nobody ever...

Raise Dead now costs 5000 GP!

What a bunch of whiny babies! I for one am GLAD they are raising the price - it provides more of an incentive for people to a) stick together b) respect the cleric c) role-play properly - MOST people die and NEVER come back. Coming back to life shouldn't be the standard, even for adventurers...

If I read "meat grinder" one more time...

I'm no expert on the modules out there, but I have to say it's a shame if your experience has been almost entirely hack-n-slash. Certainly there are ways to spice up a module by adding non-violent mysteries, romances, scary stories or just general philosophical conundrums. You do realize that...

    Should multiclass spellcasters be fixed?

Uh, I have no sympathy for people that whine because their multi-classed spellcasters are weaker than single-classed spellcasters. I voted "no".

    Save... OR DIE!

Unless I'm playing an alignment that would allow my character to strip down a dead party member once they fell, I think it's really really tacky to do so. I would definitely bring it up with your next character - sort of have some sort of discussion about "what do we do when someone dies deal"...

    undead soccer!?!? (ot)

How sad. I mean - the guy was 28 and an athlete in his prime! That's kinda scary - I wonder what happened.

Good day, gentlemen. Has anyone noticed a striking change in Dragon magazine?

Re: Yeah, I've noticed changes... Considering most of what I am referring to is artwork, marketing and general presentation, of course my statements are going to be subjective. You use the word like it's a bad thing. As for the general idea that we all refer to things in the past as better...

    Dysfunctional Gamer Behaviour

I think it just comes down to talking excitedly (and loudly, within earshot of potential mates) about anything considered to be nerdy - whether it's DnD, Star Trek, or even to an extent the Matrix.

Good day, gentlemen. Has anyone noticed a striking change in Dragon magazine?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Good day, gentlemen. Has anyone noticed a striking change in Dragon magazine? Well it looks like we have a opposing alignments, to say the least. And I hate to break it to you, but many of your friends are pretty rabid and vague at times too - though not surprisingly I will...

Good day, gentlemen. Has anyone noticed a striking change in Dragon magazine?

Re: Re: Good day, gentlemen. Has anyone noticed a striking change in Dragon magazine? What exactly was offensive about my first post? I understand I should probably email Eric and get the specifics, but I would say my first post was no harsher than MANY posts on here that criticize the 3.5E...

Good day, gentlemen. Has anyone noticed a striking change in Dragon magazine?

Well I guess the change is much more drastic for me because I've literally had a 10-year hiatus from gaming and the magazine. So you can imagine the shock when you go from looking at Dragon #181 (which I still have) to the current issue. It's just a completely different magazine now. I really...
