    Lawful Good Alignment and Roleplaying

Sounds more like that's something YOU would do. And it sounds neither lawful or good. More like chaotic neutral (or chaotic good on a bad day).

[Dallas Gameday] Aftermath and Commentary starts on Page 10!

So I have a question for you guys. I'm only familiar with 3.0 & recently 3.5 DnD, specifically the Forgotten Realms. But what happens when someone like myself shows up and people are playing in settings that are unfamiliar to them? I'm willing to learn, but I just wonder if DMs/GMs at these cons...

So I'm reading up on the new DnD board game, and, Ugh.

Fayredeth - I'm very familiar with HeroQuest...and I was Zargon! I guess I see the point about it being a board game vs. it being a role-playing game, I just found the language to be a bit severe. I've also been reading up on the rules and the game seems pretty sucky - I would even say that...

Either. But why can't the answer be "both"?

So I'm reading up on the new DnD board game, and, Ugh.

I printed out the Dungeon Master's Guide and Player's Guide for the new DnD board game that's supposed to be coming out. (see http://www.danddgame.com) I was interested in how the game would run, and I encountered something I found a bit hard to swallow.... In the Player's Guide, this is what...

[Dallas Gameday] Aftermath and Commentary starts on Page 10!

I'm interested in reading more about Living Greyhawk (and, out of curiousity, do people ever play normal Greyhawk campaigns?)

    Lawful Good Alignment and Roleplaying

I think he would neither forgive nor forget - the monk is most likely to apprehend the gnome and bring him to justice by whatever means the law of the land dictates (ie., bring him to the proper authorities, to the Harpers, what have you). The monk shouldn't seek revenge, he should probably...

For the DMs: do you roll up treasure randomly or make a detailed list yourself?

I'm thinking that one day in the near future I'm going to be a DM. Having seen only a few other DMs, I'm wondering if most DMs roll up treasure (according to the CR or whatever) or just create a list of cool stuff that they think is appropriate for the encounter? I feel that I would prefer to...

Why do you NOT like 3.5 ?

I've gotten over the whole "I have issues w/3.5" thing. I mean, no, it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it's good enough and it has the industry talking, moving and shaking. And we all know hype sells....and the more money put in the better stuff we get out. At least that's my...

Spell Focus - Still Worth It?

If a DM is concerned about monsters forever failing their saves (which I'm sure we all know has never been the case except for the powergamers who insist on playing the arcane spellcaster or Red Wizard, a group of which I'm proud to say I don't belong to) then just give the monsters a feat to...

    Touchy situation with my group

Actually I think they are quite a happy couple. She has told me that on alternate weekends he DMs a game and basically presents insane, insurmountable scenarios designed to kill the PCs. Apparently the last session (which she told me about) the wizard was DMing and the party was mysteriously...

Spell Focus - Still Worth It?

Melee fighters swing their weapons around FAR more than a spellcaster will cast a spell from their "spell focused" school. At the end of any given session, I would say a fighter would utilize his weapon focus at least 5 times more than a spellcaster would use their spell focus...if not more...

    Touchy situation with my group

thanks Zaruthustran. I SWEAR I have looked online and never found a site like the one you mention (actually I posted on wickedclean.com but without much success). I will hit that site immediately, and thanks everyone for your advice. With luck I will be gaming with a more chill, balanced group...

    Ideal Number of Players?

I'd say 5 players - making 6 total (with the DM). This way there is never a stalemate in voting decisions and if one person dies the party isn't crippled.

I'm afraid I'm pretty vanilla - can't get enough of the Forgotten Realms. What's midnight all about?

Augury and Divination (or, Annoying your God to death)

Very very frickin hilarious, Scion. Though I sincerely hope you are familiar with cut & paste - because that's a lot of repitious typing.

Hey d20 - I'm down. Either of those dates works for me. As to a location, I have no clue.

[3.5] Narrative instead of Miniature based games

I'm a control-freak so as a player I'd have major issues with not being able to see where my player is or actually touching and moving his mini...even if the DM is one hell of an awesome storyteller. But that's me wanting the game to be visual. If you find a group that's gung-ho about it then go...

    Touchy situation with my group

Trust me guys, if I had the people to start my own game, I would. I'm pretty sure I'm ready to be fitted for a DM hat (never DM'd before, unless you count my being "Zargon" for the board game Hero's Quest some 10 years ago), but as has been noted, DALLAS SUCKS FOR GAMERS. For those who know...

Help! Most boring 3.5 campaign yet!

I have to agree that you should actually tackle this challenge head on. Sure, to many it would sound boring, but as howandwhy99 has noted, you can actually make the campaign exciting in a non-conventional way. Basically this player is asking you to think outside the box. Are you up for it?
