No, really, it *can* get worse...

Do remember that if you should bring him back as some manner of undead, he will be ineligible for either Raise Dead or Reincarnate once his undead form is slain. If the player wishes to come back, he might not appreciate the need for an expensive 7th level spell to return.

What options have you regreted allowing in your game?

Psionics, for me. I ended up using the "Psionics are different" variant to keep the 2E flavor, but it turned out to be a bad move. I've since decided that psionics have no place in my games because I don't think their flavor fits into my vision of psuedomedieval fantasy, so I won't be making...

    Order of the Stick Updated

Some (many?) of them are running from the law. They abandoned their lawfully-assigned positions on the wall and fled.

    Order of the Stick Updated

I think Stalker0 was pointing out that the Leadership feat's sole requirement is "Character level 6."

    "Destroy Undead" class feature

What do evil clerics get in return? Also, what steps does this variant take to ensure that turn resistance remains viable?

What happened to Negative Energy Ray (and the like) from T&B?

Disintegrate being the counter-example. I seem to recall the "attack roll = no save" design decision being new to 3.5, but I could well be mistaken. I'm feeling sufficiently lazy that I don't want to go hunt down my 3.0 PHB to check.

Is there a Class or PrC that grants a permanent Protection from Evil?

Seriously. Back when I ran my first 3e game, I let the party mage create shirts of Protection from Evil for a market price of 2000 gp each. At the time, I didn't realize exactly how cool PfE was. Learned my lesson. I'd charge at least 10 times that now, and still consider it a bargain.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - POTENTIAL SPOILERS

Apparently a simple punch to the face followed by a wand-grabbing will transfer ownership, IIRC.

    Real DnD Heroes

Wow. You must have a lot of druids in your family. :D

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - POTENTIAL SPOILERS

Yeah, it seems to shoot my theory down. Seems silly of him to go into that field, given the Elder Wand shenanigans.

    What's my caster level?

Out of curiosity, how did you arrive at this number?

    What's my caster level?

Not being familiar with the Ur-Priest (beyond "9ths before level 17? Bad monkey! No biscuit!"), I'd go with 11. The Mystic Theurge does provide divine spellcasting progression, and would seem to be ineligible to further boost the Ur-Priest caster level.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix SPOILERS!!!

While true, remember that most injuries are apparently simple matters to heal in the wizarding world. Whole limbs or extremities can be regrown, so long as they aren't removed by Dark magic. Combined with the aforementioned older sensibilities, I suspect parents are somewhat less touchy about...

Do You Build As You Go?

Usually I have a progression set in stone, and it takes a pretty substantial event or revelation to change that. For example, my current character in an Eberron game was intended to go Wiz5/Wild Mage 10/Fatespinner 5. Then I died, and learned that the Eberronian (?) afterlife is a giant line...

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - POTENTIAL SPOILERS

Don't forget Myrtle, who did die of magical means (insofar as a basilisk is an unnatural creature).

    Is this legal?

That's probably what I'd do, too. Though I'd consider having "only usable by me" items cost extra to make because it can't be used against you.

    Fastest Game of Risk Ever

I think you got the big ones. I have a copy of Castle Risk sitting on my shelf, but I have no idea whether that one is still made.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - POTENTIAL SPOILERS

I'm surprised that, after they learned about the Taboo, they didn't decide to just refer to Voldemort as Tom. After all, Tom is substantially more common than Voldemort or Riddle; couldn't very well Taboo that. Still probably wouldn't have mattered; I suspect Harry would have forgotten himself...

    Fastest Game of Risk Ever

I have. It's certainly interesting, but I think it's probably the most flawed of the Risk variants out there. We've found the miracle cards, while flavorful, tend to be a mite powerful; also the effects of the god of War (attacker wins ties, if the god is with the army) breaks one of the...
