    Gnome Hooked Hammer

Do a Google image search on "hook sword" and you'll find several examples. Also some things entirely unrelated, but that's what you have to expect with search engines.

    Ahhhhhh, stop typing that!

Pfft. It's not that difficult. If you'd use the nominative case in Latin, then it's "I." Else, it's "me." Same goes for who vs. whom. See? Easy. :)

    Making Player Rolls

That's an unfortunate property of Excel's RAND() function. It is calculated every time the sheet refreshes or is changed. The poster who suggested it seems to use it not for record-keeping purposes, but to generate pages of them at a time and print them out for use during the game.

Can an Illusion of Cats Damage a Rat Swarm?

I'd have the swarm attack the cats. Swarms move toward the closest living target and engulf it. They continue to do this as long as there are targets to be had. If the swarm fails its Will save, then it thinks the cats are real. Thus, it will engulf it and continue to attack until the illusion...

Is the "official D&D product" really that big a deal?

You assume incorrectly. I don't purchase or use at my table non-Wizards stuff. I began doing this during the Great d20 Glut, when product quality tended toward the poor. We were all learning the system, and I was clearing out the 1E cobwebs and assumptions. I didn't need the added complication...

I dunno. That looks like the end of the line for her. Her story seems played out. The fans wouldn't accept either the path of blackguard or redemption, I don't think.

[Star Wars d20] The Death Star's Superlaser

I'm really curious as to why you'd need stats for the superlaser beyond "Enough to utterly destroy you + 1". If you really felt the need to quantify it, call it "(10^100)!d20 damage" or some other suitably outrageous value. As for the second question, if it's in any way related to the first...

    OotS #462

Yeah, but Belkar hasn't had a next birthday cake to savor yet, so that's out. :)

    OotS #462

There's still the issue of Belkar. By voluntarily associating with him, Hinjo would be in violation of the PHB pally code.

How would you divvy up the material in the core books?

Heh; perhaps we could color-code them. Red for the first set, blue for the second, beige for the third, black for the fourth... :)

Casting From A Scroll In Combat - Walk Me Through It

In the FRCS, there exists a mundane scrollcase that will enable you to pull out scrolls as a free action. I'm uncertain if it has been reprinted since.

    OotS #451

It used to be that way, though I didn't see anything to that effect in the SRD. Perhaps that was one of the more subtle changes made in the 3.0->3.5 transition?

No XP for summoned creatures, right?

Technically true, though I disagree. A fight where a balor calls up another balor is very different from one where the thing uses its Implosion.

    Magic Jar: Is it useful?

You do give it back in the end. It's really no more evil than Dominate Person.

    Your own personal gaming terms...

"Dodge partner" -- n., Creature against whom a Dodge feat functions. Usage: "Oh, and the dragon's my dodge partner for the round." "Who brought torches?" -- Asked when the party has forgotten something blindingly obvious. Origin: In a game I ran shortly before the 3.5 transition, the party of...

[OotS 444] Does he have the X's in his eyes?

I think it's a reference to the fact that the variety of undead in question is clerical in nature, and we've not seen it casting.

    Take 10 on Spellcraft check?

Feature, not bug. Scribing is the attraction of wizards, after all.

What does On The Ground mean to you?

To be fair, water is itself a poor conductor. The dissolved ions present in any non-distilled water, however, are great.
