    D&D 4E Does the OGL/D20 liscense hurt 4e? Should 4e be open?

Actually reading the thread, I more and more try to find out who is acutually interested in 4e not being OGL. Or at least create impression, that 4e will not be OGL. I guess some of WotC/d20 competitors might be the ones, who would profit out of this. But otherwise?

    D&D 4E Does the OGL/D20 liscense hurt 4e? Should 4e be open?

I think it will be open. Might be a different d20 licence with it, might release more strict version of OGL (OGL 2.0) or whatever, but nevertheless, I believe they will not leave the path of supportive 3rd-party content. It is a long term strategy which is strongy and it actually scares the...

    WoTC products, going downhill?

It really depends... on one hand there are great things like Star Wars on the other, WotC beat absolutely anyone senseless with tones of feat/PrC/spells and that kind of... Now they have catched themselves into a trap. There is crunch for everything imaginable and so they turn more to the...

    Narrative aspects of D&D(3e)

If it should be the last one, I must admit, that I would be really happy, that D&D doesn't fit. Call me traditionalist, but I somehow can not chew these so called nar. games. They don't work for me.

    Narrative aspects of D&D(3e)

I would recommend reading Campbell's The Hero of Thousand Faces, for what I speak about is the monomyth. Which is something you will in lot of forms found in any culture. Now, I don't argue, the myth D&D produce is its own version nor that it is just a shadow of actual myth. But nevertheless...

    Narrative aspects of D&D(3e)

I think, there is one big narrative element and that is the change of a common folk into mythical heroes. That is something the myths are usually about. And the levels really do this job. So I believe that this is narrative element in D&D.

    Hybrid Theory: True20 + SWSE = ?

I think that if you take the best out of the most progressive d20 system variations so far (which means True20, SW Saga Edition, Mutants & Masterminds and Spycraft) you will get a pretty nice little bag of D&D 4e. Oh... wrong conclusion. Yes. It is definitely possible and also worth a try, but...

    Wizards 2008 releases?

Is it just me, or is there almost nothing for 2008, and if, than just such fluffy dull pieces as Eberron Survival Guide and Wizard's Presents (formerly Behind the Screen series). What the hell?

Does Saga Edition make anyone else jones for Star Wars in general?

Yes. I've always been more DnD/D20 modern kind, but now I have clone troopers mins ready, book readed, adventure in the head, seen the new trilogy five times in last two weeks and ready to go!

Would you play your game here?

I am not willing to pay for a gaming place. Never. It is a matter of principle. I might pay for food, and our group actually did sometimes, because we play eg. in tea room. But never ever for the place itself. It sounds so terribly wrong, that I can't imagine that. I might pay for renting a...

Humans: Essential Race or Sacred Cow?

Hm... humans. So well, what we know about those sacred cows anyway. They produce milk. Oh yeah. And they have horns. Now, well humans produce milk also. That is suprising level of coincidence. We should cut them out of books immediately. But wait? Do they have horns? Ah. Here is the problem. No...

    Wizards 2008 releases?

Well... I still think we might see d20 Modern revision in 2008, but probably not in first quarter. And this is definitely just my speculation. What is interesting is the taht Behind the Screen series. First book is listed for December 2007 acutally, but surprisingly is not listed in WotC...

Central Europe - Vienna, Prague, Budapest

Hi! I am from Prague and I acutally live here. In the matter of source books I am pretty sceptical, we were able to put few short paragraphs about "cyberpunk Czech republic" to Shadows over Europe, I have seen some "East Europe" myth Dragon been published in deep past, and that's pretty much...

The Problem with Star Wars Minis

I see a problem with let's Darth Maul, but Luke? I have one, and he looks as common as any non-name human Jedi could look. I have to told players that's him, because they didn't recognize him.

    D&D 4E When will 4e be anounced?

Don't listen to the trolls before me. I have serious outside information from the head of Lizards of the Coast. The D&D will be sold to unspecified third party and Microsoft will make D&D 4e part of their OS code name Vienna. That way everybody will have to play it or otherwise... On the other...

D&D 4E 4E is to be announced at GenCon?

Unwise you were, my young padawan. I am also looking forward to a new edition (if it will be a bit like SW SECR it would be great!) and yes, I do not buy much D&D books or stuff. So far I have 10. And these are nice titles, which I will be able to use with whatever edition. On the other hand if...

D&D 4E 4E is to be announced at GenCon?

I am not so sure about that, because the products from the late 2007 and early 2008 are really strange one. Both Behind the Screen books seems to be very fluffy, not tied to any edition. The same goes for that half-time sorceress and the monster thing... They are publishing Eberron, yes. But...
