What are your questions for Bruce Cordell?

How does the game support role-playing? Any mechanics of that sort? How do you aid DMs with their job? What kind of advice will the game offer? Seriously what will be in DMG? The book is most obscure of the three? Any hint about what it will contain?

ICV2's Quarterly Report on Games is out

I am not impressed. Those datas are strange to say the very least. There are significant differences with trends according to C&GM and these differences are significant and not this first case...

    Turning D&D into WoW?

Somehow I am sceptical about Ryan Dancey's opinion on this one. I like D&D, I like the preview and I am looking forward to play that way with my friends. And I am so NOT appealed by WOW or any other MMORPG... strange? Might be. But for me D&D 4e sounds like a cool game... On the other hand...

I'm betting all classes have the same attack progression

Well... if Wizards will roll for attack with spells this would make some sense...

    An observation regarding encounters

I think it is really nice, because it inion this actually adds a bit of setting feeling into the encounter. Take the goblins for example. They are no longer homogenous creatures. There is that evil goblin shaman (mastermind), who uses the other goblins for his own purposes. There is this big...

D&D 4E How Will 4e Encourage Role Playing?

I am really on two minds with this one. First, we really know very few pieces of information about this game. On the other hand the marketing is really, really heavy on crunchy combat meachanics (which is cool, indeed) but almost no info on some serious RP support. I agree that smooth, good...

    secret doors on WotC site

Yeah... but why is it there... why? Why? WHY?!? It is Wizards page... so it must be... conspiracy or something.

Are you dropping WoW for D&DI?

My main problem with DI is that ... I have no credit card. Seriously, I know in USA/West Europe this is not a problem, but round here banks are more cautious and will not give you card unless you have really good income (which I haven't). Yeah... still in the period of mostly cash economics...

Why is the mid-level sweet spot sweet?

I agree with most said, though I like more those low-mid levels like 3-6 rather than those mentioned 7-14.

    Edition Defining Adventures

For me 3rd edition pretty much lacks a defining adventure. I would pretty much not vote for Sunless Citadel (I really didn't like it...]. Slightly I am for Return to the temple of the Elemental Evil, but that is just remake. And Freeport but that is not oficially DnD. This might be a warning of...

Ryan Dancey on Redefining the Hobby (Updated: time elements in a storytelling game)

Well Ryan... the problem as I see it, there are two problems, as I see them. First, in you research you speak about some generall preferences common for all gamers. Which is fine with me. Though GNS somehow doesn't present all these preferences in games produced with this philosophy...

D&D 4E Directly from a quote- 8 classes in 4e! (well, now subject to much debate)

Well... let's take two axioms. There are 8 core classes. Those mentioned by James Wyatt are the right ones. Fighter (might contain say Monk) Paladin (and also Blackguard) Cleric (might containt Druid) Warlord (might contain say Barbarian and/or Bard) Wizard Ranger (and also contains Scout)...

D&D 4E What will the effect of 4E be on other d20 games?

I hope it will have an effect on new and shiny D20 Modern 2.0

Ryan Dancey on Redefining the Hobby (Updated: time elements in a storytelling game)

I must admit, that I am seriously surprised by Ryan Dancey's conclusion of his article series. I was seeing the course he is heading, but I didn't wanted to belive. I mean, his (Dancey's) research about 2 axis model and what players want etc. is usually used as counterargument to Ron Edwards...

    D&D 4E WotC and 4E Communication Feedback

Well, I wouldn't mind if all the GenCon Wizard's stuff would reveal their secrets now as Rodney did in his last blog. Otherwise I think the coverage was good! Hope you will reveal more soon :)

    Dungeon, Dragon free until 2008?

I am pretty sure, it is free. They need to lure us into a dungeon so that the great profit dragon can eat us all! ;)

D&D 4E How will 4E skills be? SWSE or IH

Yeah. I wouldn't mind Saga-like skills in a minute... it makes sense to me!

D&D 4E 4E: What we think we know

The roles are mostly about the roles in fight. Defender, striker, leader and controler. It is not about a personality of the character but about the powers the class has. They will diversify above these roles outside the combat and even more in the individual presentation. It is just a way to...
